Jindal?
I’ve heard of the others, but who’s Snyder?
Jindal?
I’ve heard of the others, but who’s Snyder?
Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan. Jindal is running, so yeah, he was left out. A former head of the IRS is also running, don’t remember his name, but I figure that’s a significant enough resume item that he should be considered a legit candidate.
So right now I count 15 likely candidates who will be serious enough to debate. That’s not counting Trump and Palin, who I figure aren’t doing it.
The winner of Iowa could conceivably only get like 12% of the vote.
Here’s more on Snyder: Rick Snyder - Wikipedia
And here’s more on Mark Everson, the former IRS head who’s running: Mark Everson - Wikipedia
Who’s “Ferret Head”? Or is that a placeholder for the next idjit to jump in?
Nixon already had the Tricky Dick rep by the time he first got elected President.
Is “Ferret Head” Trump? That thing on his head is more marmot-sized, I thought.
What a poster child for the Revolving Door!
Not a good person to run against a candidate who got rich off the Presidency.
Yes, Ferret Head is Trump. He doesn’t take it seriously, so…
Here’s my list of names of candidates and proto-candidates:
Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham, John Kasich, Rick Snyder, George Pataki, Bob Ehrlich, Jim Gilmore, (Rep.) Peter King, Donald Trump, John Bolton.
So you left out Jindal, Ehrlich, Gilmore, King, and Bolton. And I’m not including Palin; I haven’t heard a thing to suggest she might be running this time, not that anyone would care if she did: even the wingnuts are over her by now.
I’m including Trump because he’s opening a campaign office in NH. Without something tangible like that, I’d leave him off too.
More like “Reality just got shitty”, amirite? Ha?
<gets coat>
<leaves in shame>
Ah yes, Bolton, I think he could actually be more serious than the coverage he’s getting right now. But he’s a little heterodox, a Joe Lieberman clone. He only appears conservative because he’s only ever held foreign policy positions in Republican administrations. But his voice should be heard in the debates.
Comparison to any known terrestrial life form is misconceived.
Wait, what? The same John Bolton whose diplomatic approach boiled down to “We’re America, so fuck you” - that John Bolton?
Hell, I’d pick Roose Bolton over him. “A quiet land, a quiet people.”
But not Michael Bolton. Never Michael Bolton.
<shudder>
You can’t just drop a name like that in a nice, quiet, friendly thread like this.
John Bolton as President is likely to result in us declaring war on somebody. The “other guy” (who’s name shall not pass my keyboard!) would be likely to result in everybody declaring war on us.
