pre-poll baker's dozen Dem candidates for 2016

I intend to post a list of possible candidates for the Democratic nomination in 2016, and off the top of my head, I see 13 so far. Could you nominate any more (plausible) candidates, and I will add “other” to the list, and poll the SD on the likely standard-bearer in three years. The 13 are:

Biden
Corey Booker
Sherrod Brown
HRC
Cuomo
Rahm Emmanual
Hickenlooper
Tim Kaine
O’Malley
Deval Patrick
Schweitzer
Jon Tester
Warren

What, no Kennedy?

I nominate Stephen Colbert, Vermin Supreme, and the “The Rent Is Too Damn High” guy.

Who’d you have in mind? Joe? Maria Shriver?

There is only one Democratic candidate in reality: Ms. H.R.C.

I honestly don’t know why so many people seem to think this after the disgraceful way she ran her campaign in '08. I don’t think she even has any intention of running for office at age 69, but if she does I will not support her in the primary, and if she is nominated I will seriously consider voting third party.

Klobuchar and Franken; both Senators from Minnesota.

If HRC and Biden don’t run, Al Franken will be very, very difficult to beat.

Yeah, Warren. I’d give her a high rathing, from what we see so far.

And how about Krugman? He’s clearly not the slightest bit interested, but I’d sure like it if he could at least take a job as a Very Serious Advisor in the next Democratic administration.

None in particular. It just seems that an election cycle is not complete unless there is a Kennedy in the lists.

Never in recent history has the nominee been known so early. It’s Hillary. Let’s just skip the Democratic primaries in 2016, this race is over. Sure, someone might beat her. And I might win a 100m race with Usain Bolt.

If Hillary Clinton is the nominee, the Republican candidate wins, and may God strike me down if I am wrong.

You know, there area lot of Democrats who don’t like HRC, myself included. I will do everything I can to make sure it is not her, and if it is her, I’ll leave the party. Her nomination was inevitable in 2008 as well and that didn’t work out too well for her.

I don’t know if Hillary is planning to run (she’ll be 69 in 2016), but if she does run, she’ll be the frontrunner, by a mile.

I have little use for her, but the nomination is hers if she wants it.

If BIden runs, he’ll quickly be reminded that nobody liked him the OTHER time he ran for President.

In a rational world, having the name “Hickenlooper” wouldn’t be a problem for a presidential candidate. I’m anything but rational, and it reminds me of “Schicklgruber”.

Pfft. That’s not even a real name.

I think Hillary could have it if she wanted, but I also think she might decide she isn’t up for it after all. Partly age (although she would not be the oldest candidate ever to run), but partly putting herself through all of that again - I think she might feel it is not worth it.

I am sure there are a few names we have not even considered who might suddenly pop on the radar in the next two years. Even though Biden might go through the motions, he just doesn’t build any excitement and I think he would start losing lots of primaries really quickly.

It isn’t going to be easy to top Obama’s first campaign for voter enthusiasm this coming election - no matter who tries.

There’s plenty of time for Martin O’Malley to make a splash for himself and god knows he’s not above trying.

Only if you want a Republican victory, she is unelectable.

Even Gingrich acknowledged that Madame Clinton’s unbeatable.

If Clinton or Biden runs (I doubt they’d both run) then they are the nominee by fiat if not I see a strong race between Andrew Cuomo and Brian Schweitzer.

I wonder if we’ll see either of the Castro brothers in 20 or 24. Julian Castro made quite an impression at the convention last year.
