The 2026 edition of the SDMB Postcard exchange - new management, old rules

No worries! After the 10th postcard of Seattle’s Space Needle, I think people might prefer I send a boring PO card. The fun part is just receiving any card.

So 45/47 has not yet passed away, the Iranian Crisis remains unresolved and we are half-way through the last the scheduled final week for mailing out. Great affairs of state are inexorably advancing.

Of the 132 cards pledged to be mailed in 2026 73% are in transit. Two sets of apple polishers, Groups 06 & 08 have all 12 in the post (at least according to SDMB posts).

Am also showing 16 or 17% of those mailed out have been successfully delivered. There might be another in the hands of @Maus_Magill but the sender wasn’t specified.

“Keep those cards and letters rolling in”. :man_bowing:

Kind regards
PT

Tell me about it! :upside_down_face:

I have received cards from … @JaneDoe42 and @penultima_thule !
Thanks people !
@JaneDoe42 - I love the Grand Circle card, but can’t find any info on it !
Is it what google says ?, namely …

West Virginia’s “Grand Circle” likely refers to the Capitol Circle, a popular 200-mile, six-hour scenic driving loop. The circular route begins and ends in Charleston, taking travelers through culturally rich small towns and mountainous terrain across the Metro Valley and New River-Greenbrier Valley

Mine as well. Historically mail often takes less time to get from the U.S. to here, than from here to the U.S.

Today’s a holiday, so no mail delivery.

Yes - I’d gotten @JaneDoe42’s card.

My last set of cards have been sent.

Same here in Germany, but this gives me an opportunity to finally write my cards. I’ll put them in the mailbox tomorrow.

I drove from Arizona to WV a couple of years ago and stopped in New Mexico so you got a left over card from that trip

Ah, thanks. It’s very spectacular anyway !

New Mexico is fabulous. Many folks call it boring to drive through but I’ve always ended up with a sore neck due to my head trying to constantly turn 360 degrees to see everything.

West Virginia is green when its not red, orange and yellow

Makes my cards look very boring.. :frowning:

I just got my first postcard, from @JaneDoe42. It is a picture of a wildcat, from Chief Logan State Park in West Virginia, and it has a sassafras leaf postage stamp. Thank you!

And I received a very cool 3-d postcard depicting a very large and impressive bridge! Thank you so much

And I am now a postcard recipient, thanks to a card with a 16th century church painting from @Die_Capacitrix ! Thanks, DC! (I got help with the Italian caption from Google!)

Astoria Bridge is an adventure all on its own…as long as you ignore the high number of dead birds along the way.

Me too.

Only 10 days - that’s pretty fast.

Yay, got my first set of postcards today. Three cards from @pjd with vistas from his home town, and also three cards from @JaneDoe42, one Mothman-themed (I’ve seen the movie with Richard Gere and a documentary, so I know the story, but I don’t believe any of it ) and another one with a recipe for apple butter. Thanks to both of you!

Sorry for being so late with my cards, but in two hours, I will be on the road and put them in the mailbox. One goes to the UK, that should go quickly, four over the pond, which in my experience from former postcard exchanges takes about two weeks, and one around half the world to Australia, and I have no idea how long that takes, I’ve never mailed anything there before.

:+1:
Posted on Monday, so 4 days - not too shabby !

And there was even a holiday yesterday with no mail delivery here, so they could have arrived even a day earlier.

Done!

I just pulled a postcard from Portland out of the box.

@Czarcasm , that is a beautiful view.
