The 2026 edition of the SDMB Postcard exchange - new management, old rules

Meaning you just checked, and found none?

Correct. My Granddad does not have a Wikipedia page.

Thanks for checking, and letting us know.

Is there an Indians Wiki he might be mentioned in?

If he played at the major league level, even a single appearance in a regular-season or playoff game (spring training and minor league games aren’t included), he should have a page in Baseball Reference.

But, now, I’m contributing to pulling the postcard discussion off course, so my apologies.

Hey, until any more postcards get delivered, you may as well. I think it’s very cool that @Elendil_s_Heir’postcard sparked this.

I found him listed in the minors for 1929-31. I also found me. Apparently, I played second base for a small college five years ago. Not bad for someone who has the eye-hand coordination of a blind amputee.

Anyhow, my second batch is in the mailbox now.

Will I be behaving improperly if I send everyone the same postcard?

This is about my 6th postcard exchange, and I’m sure I’ve done this without any complaint.

I guess it depends on what you’re doing with the postcards first.

I don’t see anything wrong with it, though it is a bit of an imposition to have the recipient send it back to you.

But seriously…

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with giving all your recipients a copy of the same postcard.

I dropped my postcards off in a big blue mailbox this morning!

Yeah, to clarify, I have a stack of basically identical postcards.

Likewise.

Me too.

Well if “everybody” got the same NSFW card, that is outside the parameters.
But sending cards with the same pastoral image to all in your group, fair squeeze.
If it was the same card, sent to the same person, over multiple PCEs, in consecutive years you might be stretching the limits, but not breaking any rule. IMHO

It would also be boring IMHO.

I sent all mine out today, but they are all international and so may take a bit.

But @Karen_Lingel 's otter postcard has already made it across the pond! Thanks, Karen, I love Otters.

All sent. However could not find any anywhere and couldnt afford to order any so boring post office ones were sent.
As soon as I can get good ones, they will be sent.

I sent out postcards that I found while digging through my old stationery. I tried to buy some at our local Hallmark and at our post office but neither place had any. I even went to a touristy place near Morgantown but their postcards are on backorder.

At least the post office had some pretty stamps.
