All cards sent.
Slight change of plans, though-I wasn’t allowed to staple small animals to any of the cards.
And one
And one of them has arrived in Switzerland.
Hubby grabbed the mail out of the post box and I noticed the postcard and was wondering who it was from because the handwriting didn’t look familiar.
The otter is otterly cute!
Thank you Karen!
Post cards have been sent. I found some pretty cool stamps so hopefully they will make someone smile along the way.
I also received a packet from @blondebear - you might be surprised that my town has a “Toad Suck” festival in May. Around here “frog” is an f-word.
Thanks to all involved for participating!
I have a postcard from the Wichita Mountains!
Thanks, @liirogue.
-– Mine are probably going to go out just before the deadline. Fields have abruptly dried out and there’s a whole lot of behind schedule fieldwork and planting to do.
I received a second postcard from @silenus today, with a charmingly surrealistic picture on it, and one from @romansperson , with photos of historic buildings from her hometown. Thank you, both!
I received my first postcard from @JKellyMap about the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior in Wisconsin. What a bit of a coincidence - on both of my trips to Wisconsin, I had hoped to be able to go there but just couldn’t make going that far north work. Thanks for the postcard!
@thorny_locust I’m glad the postcard made it! I’m always worried I’ll mange to muck something like this up!
And a second card received today…a stunning picture of a sunrise over a mountain from who else but @SunUp ? Appropriate card/username combo I believe!
Thanks!
I got a packet from @blondebear today. Now I want to visit both Pismo Beach and the wilds of Utah.
Just got a postcard today from needscoffee, a color 3D card showing the beautiful Northern Lights. Thanks! The lower-right corner (as seen from the front) got chewed up a bit in transit, but no worries.
I got my first card yesterday, and round one went in the box this morning.
I have received a card from @kenobi_65 - it’s an old-timey card with a picture of the federal building and the Goodyear blimp on it from the Chicago’s World’s Fair. Always happy to see the blimp since I’m originally from Ohio. Thanks!
Got my first postcard today. Thanks, @romansperson! I’ve actually been through your town on a sweep through North Carolina back in the day.
Karen’s postcard showed up here (a few days ago, actually) with a pair of otters on it from an aquarium!
Thanks for the card, and I’ve got to check that place out sometime when I’m in the area!
I got my first postcard today, from @Elendil_s_Heir, of Bob “Rapid Robert” Feller, a WWII vet and longtime star pitcher for the Cleveland Indians. Led me to look him up and get a great history lesson. Thanks!
You might be the only other Doper who has!
My first supplementary list was posted today.
Good to see the arrivals being posted into thread.

Excellent.

My Granddad played for the Indians in the thirties. They sent him to the minors, and then he was dumped in eastern North Carolina.
I doubt he’s got any postcards with his likeness.
Does he have a Wikipedia page? A lot of ballplayers from back then do, and not just the Hall of Famers.
I never checked.
No.
