The 2026 edition of the SDMB Postcard exchange - new management, old rules

I think you have identified the name of your next album.

Or gather some friends, make it plural and form a band, The Antipodean Curmudgeons. They’ll be bigger than AC/DC!

Alas, likely would be true only if measured around the waistband.

What? We haven’t buried you in postcards yet?

Not for lack of trying

So I had shoulder surgery 9 weeks ago and am just now able to write semi-legibly. More cards will be going to my patient recipients with thanks for understanding. (Yes, I know everyone already got some, but I’ve been visiting important museums - like the Flatwoods Monster museum - and have been buying more that need mailed.

So…don’t blame the post office for the late arrivals. It’s all on me.

LOL!!! The good news is that there is a new to us post office for me to terrorize. Small WV post offices all have international stamps locked up somewhere, but since nobody actually uses them (except me), nobody remembers where they are.

Somebody left a packet of off-the-wall postcards in my Little Free Library yesterday. I told myself that if it was still there today, I’d consider it a sign. So there’s a 50/50 chance some people may receive a very random postcard…

Yay! I haven’t participated, but every so often i browse this thread, and i was worried about you. Glad to hear you are on the mend.

That’s very kind of you, thank you for caring.

Currently I’ve got the world’s meanest Physical Therapist working me over three times a week and I’m really working to recover so I can stop paying him to hurt me.

Feel better, and be better, soon!

My PT working my hip and leg over must have gone to the same school. Marquis de Sade University.

A college friend of mine was a physical therapy major. He said that there were two kinds of PTs:

  • “Ohhh, you poor baby, you’re hurting, let’s get you fixed up.”
  • “You won’t get better without PAIN!! STOP CRYING!!!”

And then there’s like the one I’m seeing. He pretends to care and seems so kind and gentle…and then he asks me if I couldn’t do just five more reps because he has so much faith in me. And I fall for it every single time!

Ahem. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
Kind regards
PT

I got a card from The Flatwoods Monster Museum with some encouraging words.

Thank you, @JaneDoe42!

So happy you could read it, lets hop the post office folks can read the others too1

Just received your postcard from the Flatwoods Monster Museum!

Sort of parallel with the main exchange I sent a postcard to @BMalion in Cleveland. I knew he was not well at all but hoped it would get there in time.
Unfortunately on Friday the consigned envelope was returned here to Sydney. So it will have covered most of 20,000 miles and not reached its target by not very much.
Vale Sir. Sorry I missed you.
