The 2nd Presidental Debate October 7, 2008

Only after the fact. I really don’t care for Biden.

Of course, I dislike Palin even more.

“My friends, Teddy Roosevelt is my hero, because while we were in college…”

McCain just called the Taliban freedom fighters, hmm.

“Heckuva job, Tom.”

McCain cites Teddy Roosevelt.

To be honest I think both candidates are losing, at least in my eyes. They’re returning again and again to the same talking points they used in Round 1. Obama is avoiding direct answers to a ludicrous, almost Palinesque degree (though at least what he does say doesn’t sound like Marge Gunderson on Ecstasy) and McCain is brazenly lying and bullshitting.

I might not be able to continue watching this. Now they’re fighting over the format.

Tube? Dude, get with the 21st century!

That’s it.

You’re going on my list. scribbles rapidly

(Speaking of which, why is McCain taking notes? Is he unable to remember his talking points from the beginning of an Obama response until he gets up to talk?)

I didn’t get the hair plug thing–care to 'splain?
Enough Tom–you really are McCain’s bitch.

green behind the ears? Wtf? good for the bomb Iran stuff–go get him, Barry.

This line of attack on Obama has always been completely ridiculous. Bush has already made strikes into Pakistan. McCain would absolutely do the same if he could get bin Laden. Pakistan KNOWS that. It’s not a secret. This whole “Shhh…don’t tell them” line is just silly.

“Green behind the ears?”

Ouch. Bad misspeak, Obama.

God, I hope Obama doesn’t screw up and let slip that his hero is William Ayers!

He is on record as having three prime heroes. Reagan, Goldwater and Theodore. Occasionally he remembers Lincoln. You have to excuse him the last, he was only about 4 when Abe was killed.

The followup was not really necessary. He should have just left McCain’s bullshit on the floor.

I guess I’m a bit elitist, but I really like that Obama pronounces “Pakistan” correctly, and that McCain can’t seem to.

Good finish there, Obama! I applauded.

An (R) not followed by the words “was recently indicted” seems to be about all it takes.

Yes–you know how to handle this stuff, by flying planes into Spanish electrical lines. That’s responsible.

I guess when McCain claims we must say “Never again” to another Holocaust or another Rwanda it means he hasn’t heard of Darfur.

McCain really needs a win. Obama doesn’t.

This isn’t a win for McCain.

Nobody gives a shit about this Pakistan issue, yet they fight over it like it’s the biggest thing going.
