The 3rd Annual Doper Photo Critique Thread

A couple of years ago I became interested in photography, and eventually started this thread looking for feedback from my fellow Dopers. Last year I did the same thing here. The responses in both threads were fun and insightful, so let’s do it again.

As before, this is not just my thread…if any Doper has photos that they want critiqued by the millions, please feel free to post them here.

Let’s get started.

The following photos were minimally processed in PhotoShop (ie resizing, cropping, etc.):

Snowy Yucca
Forbidding Night
Century Sunset
Abstract I
Abstract II
Hatch Chillis
Knot
Organ Mountains
Adobe
Dolphins (This was a hard shot to get because those suckers are only up for a second, so you have to be ready…)
Sunset I
Sunset II (One of my personal favorites)
Ocean Sunrise
Star Trails (Special to me because this was my first attempt at astrophotography)
Trestle
Hot Chillis

The following images have had more extensive PhotoShop work (to varying degrees):

Surreal
Dreams of Flight
Family Stones (Another favorite)
Guatemala

Some photomontage works (in the David Hockney style):

Meccom Fountain
Student Services
Pecos Bridge

Movie Posters:

Radioactive Zombies
The Family

Postcards:

Stinky Beach
Prague (One of my all-time favorites)
West Texas (Another favorite)

Most of the photos were taken with a Nikon D80. If anyone wants technical data of the photos, where they were taken, or other info, just ask.

I look forward to any and all feedback.

I’ll give this one bump before I let this die for lack of interest. :frowning:

I don’t know much about photography, but I loved those shots. The dolphin shot makes me wish I could have been there to see it myself.
