The 4400 - season finale

IIRC, they did say Isabel was aging faster than your typical baby.

Which episode(s)? The only instances to aging before last night I recall are the ones at the beginning of the season about her “only being six months old!”

I don’t think that that’s what “the war” will be. NTAC has too much ambivalence about the returnees (there’s no “destroy them all” mentality about them, especially now that the “Firewall” signatories are out of power). And even a skilled organizer like Jordan can’t herd all of the cats that make up the 4400 into a unified force of any kind. I think (or at least hope) that the divisions will be more complex than that.

I wonder if the war is going to be between, not contemporary normals and the 4400, but between the 4400 and the future guys. Maybe the 4400 won’t like the goals they will be given. Perhaps Sean wasn’t expected to remove the future programming from Kyle. Did remote control Kyle still have some important task to do? If the 4400 change the present does this erase the future guys from existence?

I should have said “growing faster”, not “aging faster”, and that probably was the episode. Perhaps her growth is tied into the promicin?

I do love the fact that Richard has abilities now. He’s so sweet and kind and open and giving. I just want to curl up and have him take care of me.

Is there a reason for spoiler tags in this thread? I mean, the title does say “season finale.” I vote against them. But I’ll use 'em in this post just to be on the safe side. I always tape the show on Sunday and watch it Monday night, so I’m a little behind.

This was one of my favorite season-enders yet! I kind of saw

Jordan’s “return”

coming, but not Isabelle! At first I was a little miffed that they grew her up so fast, but I like the way it was done (as one of the many results of Sean “healing” Kyle) and frankly the “spooky baby” bit was getting a little old (even though baby Isabelle was cute as hell). I wonder if this might send Lily over the edge, though? Her grip has gotten looser and looser…

Hal Briston, I think you’re right about

Kyle no longer going to jail, now that Jordan’s back; the whole Alana story is that the future wants Tom to have as much support as possible for whatever “war” is coming, and he’d be way too distracted if Kyle were on death row

Seconded … and seconded.

But I was disappointed that Doctor Hottie offed himself. I had high hopes for that guy. :frowning:

I love this show except for one actor, Joel Gretsch who plays Agent/Detective Tom Baldwin…he has to be the absolute worst actor on television today. His timing is always off (facial expressions reacting to a sentence before the other character has had a chance to speak) and his constant use of turning away from everyone who is trying to speak to him; his supposed studly banging of walls and doors everytime he is frustrated; and that constant pouting…

Other than his annoying presence, I think the show is great and the season finale looks like it is setting up for another interesting season.

And myohmy how Maia oh Maia has grown. Interesting that she wasn’t able to figure out how to put on clothes, but able to do her hair quite nicely.

I think you mean Isabelle.

Anyone think that maybe Sean screwed up in healing Kyle? That maybe the entitity he pulled out of him wasn’t the Other, but the real Kyle? And what’s left is the Other?

Yes. Thank you.
At least I knew the name was female.

I think Collier was being punished but he is still needed to bring the plans of the future into fruition.

Something about the way the doctor was behaving earlier in the garage made me wonder if he killed himself, or was killed by someone else. Perhaps his death will be revisited in season 3 (there’d better be a seaon three!).

Sorry so late to the party, but I had this on my DVR and only just now got around to finally watching it.

What a great episode! I’m really glad Jordan Collier is back. I like both the actor and the character. It’s also a relief Kyle isn’t going to prison, evidently. But what’s going to happen with Kyle now? First he’s in a coma, possibly because he was supposed to be abducted but didn’t quite make it. Or something. Somehow, something or someone got into him, which put him into a coma, Shawn comes back and snaps him out it, yet the something is still in him. Tom takes him back to the original return area, and it seems whatever it was, leaves him. But then, oh no! Something’s still in him, directing him to kill Jordan. So now what? Did Shawn finally cure him this time, or what? Is he now finally just a normal guy, and thus unimportant to the show?

Isabelle was neat. Somehow, I just knew they were going to do that, although, I figured it’d be a creepy kid around Maia’s age. It’s just as well. I also was getting tired of cute little non-talking baby making people kill themselves.

Lily has always bugged me. About the only thing keeping her together enough to stay out of the loony bin was being Isabelle’s special mommy. Now that Isabelle isn’t going to need mommy anymore, will she finally lose it?

Richard’s got a power! Woo hoo! He’ll kick butt with it too, and then feel guilty about it. He’s such a nice guy.

I see some interesting possibilities for this “war” that Maia talks about. It could almost be an X-Men kinda thing, with an ever increasing number of mutants manifesting power that alarm the general populace.

Or, now that we’ve seen Dr. Whathisname shooting up with this promycin stuff, it’ll be interesting if he gets powers. If he does, and word gets out, it’s going to bring new meaning to Jordan’s little program for helping people find their inner 4400. Not only can you become a 4400, but all you have to do is find a 4400, and extract their brain chemical. Could get nasty.

Dang, I can’t wait for next summer. I can’t believe this show only gets 13 episodes/year! Grrr.
