The Alan Brady Show - Let's talk about it

So it’s this new show on TV Land which is supposed to be a continuation of the fictional “Alan Brady Show” from “The Dick Van Dyke Show.” Well actually I think it’s a reality show, behind the scenes kinda of thing. And it’s animated. Tonight, the first episode was the 50th anniversary.

What did you guys think? It just didn’t click with me. I don’t have a great knowledge of Carl Reiner but the whole show felt pretty flat for him. Like he was just out of touch.

Well, that’s about as in depth as I can get. So did anyone else watch it? What did you think?

I didn’t watch it, but I thought it was a really bad idea. Plus, its animated, and badly animated (from the commercials I’ve seen).

The animation is very weird. It kinda feels like the brother of MTV’s Spider-man.

I get the feeling I may be the only doper who watched it. But if any one has watched it I guess what I want to know is “Was this Carl Reiner’s humor?” I don’t have all that much knowledge of him but what I do remember cracked me up. Like the “2000 Year Old Man” and stuff.

I watched it and wanted my 30 minutes back when it was over. They should stick to what they best: show old reruns. I wish they’d show Twilight Zone or Maverick.

It’s only animated because that’s how Carl Reiner wishes he looked today! It can only be possible via animation! …Just an educated guess. - Jinx

Wow, somebody else watched it. My apologies hermann.

I’ll be surprised if it lasts 6 episodes. I wonder how many episodes they made.

No, sorry…my post above is based strictly on the promos. I didn’t watch the show. During a promo, the observation hit me about why are they using of animation vs. real actors? - Jinx
