Warning: Football game on CBS. There’s likely to be a delay, so set your DVRs accordingly. Catch up with you all after the credits!
Not likely, there will be.
Yes. Two-minute warning at 7:14PM. Which means they MIGHT be done by 7:30.
Okay, looks like 60 Minutes officially began about 7:20, so there’s your mark.
Two in a row delayed by football.
CBS has the doubleheader on 10/9, 10/30, 11/20, 11/27, 12/11, and 12/18, so you can go ahead and expect delays on those days at least.
Yes, this is par for the course for the September season of TAR. The February season has less of it, but that runs into March Madness and they apparently have a few Sunday games, as well. It’s what comes from having an Institution in the lead-in slot…60 Minutes NEVER gets shortened or cancelled. It gets pre-empted, but they always run it in full.
I wasn’t about to start this thread after what happened last week. thanks JayJay
Well, if I may continue the conversation…I used to want delays because we always tried to put our kids to bed before it started, but now that we let them watch it, I hate delays. 9:22 is kind of late for them just to be getting into bed. But trying to get them into bed at 9, with them aware that there is a double elimination coming, might be difficult.
I don’t have a DVR, so I guess we’re letting them stay up. Ah well, I’ll already be at work in the morning when my husband is trying to get them up and ready for school.
Cathi sounds just like actress Debra Jo Rupp.
So only 3 out of 11 teams read the sign at the orphanage?
So, CBS is running their Sunday night network schedule on time 61% of the time…
I would fire one of my guys if he had a 39% tardy rate.
That’s EXACTLY who she put me in mind of tonight!
I guess so. This race has actually be interesting. They have changed a lot of things around and caught almost all of them off guard. I don’t think I would have seen the sign.
:thinks:
:counts on fingers: The Snowboarders, Laurence and Zach, and the Showgirls, I think?
I am thrilled beyond belief Bill and Cathi are still in it! Isn’t usually the second leg that most of the “older” teams are eliminated, if memory serves me correct?
I couldn’t stop cringing hearing the brother and sister (Justin and Jen?) bicker.
I like twists like this. It not only gives the lagging teams a fair shot at catching up, but it also throws a splash of reality into those who thought they were cruisin’ with Earl and kickin’ butt
I liked the twist, too. Especially since the Survivor team got eliminated. I just found them too smug in that opening interview tonight—it’s good we came in fourth on that leg…make people think we’re just a regular team, even though we’re not. Well, no, you’re an eliminated team.
I did think there was going to be more searching for the mask and sword down in the cave, but I suppose that would have been difficult.
I was less disappointed in the gay couple’s elimination than I expected to be. In their interviews, they seemed nice and level-headed and pleasant, and I wanted to like them as Racers, but they never seemed to be racing. If I’d had my druthers, the sister from the brother/sister team would have had another bratty snit, sending them home. He seems okay, but she’s already working my last nerve. And color me surprised that the snowboarders and the showgirls noticed the “give all your money” instructions on the first try. I predicted that neither of those teams would be that observant.
Yeah, they both seemed like really nice people, they remind me of people I know, and I wanted to see more of them. But I don’t know why they always seemed so slow. It’s like they weren’t even trying to race.
I would’ve loved to do the cave rappel!

What I’m curious about is whether people will start being more careful going forward – scan the scene instead of just running in and running out again.
