The Amazing Race 12/7 "You Look Like Peter Pan"

And I thought I was the only one thinking such dirty thoughts.

Oh yeah, they certainly piled on the creativity with the tasks and I appreciated the number of them that were not straightforward. There were also a lot of times where the faster detour wasn’t necessarily obvious.

How long do you think it took Dandrew to complete the roadblock? I’m going with 2 1/2 days.

I’d bet that once the other two teams had finished the race, the producers sent them on just to get the thing finished.

I am sure the edit made it look closer during the end game, but I wonder how far apart #1 and #2 were

We’ve seen a few occasions where the second place winner runs up to the mat while the winner is saying thank you and I didn’t see that this time, but since the teams were right on top of each other a few minutes earlier I would be shocked if it was more than fifteen minutes.

Well they definitely deserved to win, being the best racers. I teared up a bit at Ken and his rings, but she is one crazy woman! I was very sad that Dallas & Toni couldn’t be there for the end. They were such a sweet team.

I really like the challenges where they have to think back over their whole race. The one last year where they had to fit the objects on the scale was way cool. My 3 year old daughter wants to do a zip line now (It’s just like Diego!!).

Definitely an awesome season. More cow suits! More female wrestling tasks! More of that throwing the paint (or whatever it was) at the contestants while they run and get their clue! I also liked that this season had more CLUES, like it was in the beginning. Make them figure more stuff out.

If I were a crude and uncultured male. I’d make a joke about Starr running around asking about where “the magic’s in the hole” was, but I’m not, so I won’t.

Me, too. And when she said something about how he’s gotten better over the course of the race, I yelled, “You were the one who needed to get better, bitch!” I feel sorry for Ken, and suspect we’ll see a small news story in a few months about how the second-place Amazing Race team has split for good. At least I hope so for his sake!

Am I the only one whose gaydar buzzed a little when Nick was on screen? (NTTAWWT!)

God, no! The boy’s a New York theatrical dancer. Do the math.

The Amazing Race’s Toni & Dallas: Passport To Misadventure

I really am curious how long it took the boys to complete the second task. It seems like they didn’t take that long on the first challenge, they really just got screwed on the taxi.

And that brings me to my second point. Is it just me or was a huge amount of the travel done by taxi this time? I don’t remember any trains or buses outside of the last legs detour, and I think they only drove themselves during the first few legs. I wonder how the standings would be if we took taxis out of the equation, because they really played huge factor at many points.

Also, I bet that field of clue boxes is what most racers see in their nightmares for a month after the show is over.

Spoiler below:

I was happy that Tina and Ken did not win.
She is an absolute ,(cant understand normal thinking).

She doesn’t have the ability to forgive and forget.
If you bury the hatchet you can’t leave the handle sticking out.

Good for the siblings. I am glad they won

IMHO, this was another great season of the most interesting “reality” show on television. The editors of the Amazing Race should win a special Emmy every year for their work in building suspense for the viewers in each episode – perhaps ignorance is bliss for the viewers in not knowing how much actual time passes between the winners and also-rans in each leg of the challenges. The editors of this show are responsible for my shortened, jagged bitten-off fingernails, damn them.

I agree with those who commented above about how the chance selection of competent vs. incompetent taxi drivers (or even the availability of taxis) may have too much influence on the outcome of the race. For next season, I hope the producers offer more diversity in the choice of transportation for each leg of the race.

Finally, I cheered that brother and sister won this race. Bravo! They seemed nice and deserved to win. I pity the poor ex-football player who came in second place, for obvious reasons. wink.

I really never got the incest vibe from Nick and Starr because even though my “gaydar” is pretty minimal, Nick registered on it. If he is gay, maybe that is why they were more comfortable sitting very close and touching frequently than a completely hetero brother/sister team might be. Still, I saw nothing that made me think, “Ewww–they shouldn’t be doing that!”

And they had said in one of their earlier interviews on the show that they didn’t get along that great when they were younger, so saying their relationship is better now makes sense to me.

Hey, as they say “Incest is Best.”

Oh come on, just kidding…

How cute! According to the interview linked above, Starr & Dallas have been dating for about 6 months…

The thing is that this has been said about every single brother/sister team on this show except for the ones on Family Edition. When the “vibe” seems to be felt for every example offered, I think that the “vibe” is in the beholders’ heads.

No–see, he CHEATED ON HER! so she gets a free pass to be a shrewish harpy for the rest of their lives.

You just don’t GET it.

I’m glad the best team won.

I loathed with the passion I loathed Flo and the Bitter Lousiana(?) women the whiney, snivelly, wormy douchebag with the dark hair on the Frat Boys team. Frankly, he’s in a class with Flo, the Pizza Brothers and whatshisname–the personal-trainer for the handicapped woman a few seasons back as being baggage. Hell, Flo at least sold snails and did a couple of challenges well before she had her meltdown. Did the slimey little twerp do ANYTHING on this race except berate the big reddish haired guy?
