The Amazing Race 17 Finale 12/12 [SPOILERS!]

Especially the Notre Dame graduate…I’m pretty sure ND has a world literature course.

Amen—Two very intelligent Racers, who stayed cool when things got tough…

(also, is it legal in California for cabbies to drive and talk on a cell at the same time?)

I am sure they do (or something comparable), but it doesn’t mean that it is a required course for every major. I never took a World Lit class at Ga Tech.

I did not know what the reference was.

But he had GPS!

Can all of the teams that they featured on the sneak-preview of next season really be on the next Race?

It seemed like they showed about 20 different teams…

That’s what I was thinking, too. It seemed like there were a LOT of teams. Hell, about half of the teams from just THIS season were in that promo.

At the end, when Jill was breaking up and he said something like “I think she is trying to say is…” all I could hear in my mind was “She wouldn’t know what words to use because she didn’t go to Notre Dame.”

Complete list of teams:

  • Kynt and Vyxsin (Season 12)
    • Ron and Christina (Season 12)
    • Amanda and Kris (Season 14)
    • Mel and Mike (Season 14)
    • Jaime and Cara (Season 14)
    • Margie and Luke (Season 14)
    • Kisha and Jen (Season 14)
    • Flight Time and Big Easy (pictured, Season 15)
    • Zev and Justin (Season 15)
    • Jet and Cord (Season 16)
    • Gary and Mallory (Season 17)

I know for sure the promo showed Brooke and Claire, one of them saying something like “We ain’t goin’ away that easy!”

I think the black guys’ team (they seemed a bit “theatrical” during their short time in competition) who were eliminated first on this season’s Race was also shown on the clip…

That’s more reasonable. They stuck a lot of teams that won’t be on next season into that promo. I know I saw Chad and Stephanie, Michael and Kevin, and Claire and Brook from this season on there.

And Team Tattoopid was on the promo as well. There was no way that they should have been on next season after he quit in Hong Kong.

Yay for Nat and Kat! Not a very tense finish when they left the final challenge before anyone else even arrived, but I’m so happy they won.

And a big WOO HOO for The Amazing Race in HD next season! I’ve been wanting that for a long time.

Hmmm…that preview was very misleading since Brook & Claire and the Tatoopids aren’t in the next season. Good gravy, it should be fun!

Since I actually used to work with Thomas, I have to say I am not surprised he doesn’t know who Sancho Panza is. He never struck me as a particularly smart or curious person.

Eh. I was mildly interested in this because it’s a novelty for someone you know to turn up on a reality show.

I know. If I were Thomas, every night for a few weeks I’d have the nightmare where Notre Dame asked for its degree back.

I’ve read Don Quixote. I’ve seen Man of La Mancha live. I’ve seen the Man of La Mancha episode of Quantum Leap. I’ve watched Lost in La Mancha.

And I was still thinking that Sancho Panza was a character from Zorro for some reason.

But even if I’d gotten that right away I wouldn’t have thought of Quixote Studios (never heard of it) but instead would have been trying to find where both a movie version of Don Quixote (or Zorro) and Seven Year Itch were filmed.

None of the contestants had any idea who Sancho Panza was, and at least two of them were far more educated than Thomas. It was a taxi cab elimination, though that doesn’t mean the order of finish would have been any different.

Am I the only one who thought Nat and Kat would have a big smooch on the mat?

It was a fill in the blank clue. One of the teams was saying “blank studios” before they ever got Quixote.

Ah, I missed that in what was shown.

Verna Felton from season 3 of the apprentice had the office next to mine at Microsoft. I loved that season!

I’m pretty sure they are going to use the million to buy a bigger closet.
