The Amazing Race 2/15 "Don't Let a Cheese Hit Me"

CBS hasn’t gone out of their way to draw much attention to this, like telling anybody, or anything; but there’s a new season of The Amazing Race starting this Sunday. FlightlessBird started a thread when the teams were announced, but it must have dropped off the first page before I even noticed it. The offical CBS page is here.

I thought I’d start this thread a little early to spread the word among the usual TAR crowd.

Gah! Don’t do that! I saw the thread and said, “I missed it! I thought it started Sunday!”

I’m glad you started this thread, because I would have completely missed the season premiere. We rarely watch TV “live” and rarely see promos or commercials, so I wouldn’t have known it was back on otherwise.

This is one of our favorite shows at our house!

Anyhow… a little bump, in case this thread lets someone else set their DVR too!

In for the notifications…

I haven’t seen the team list yet. I’ll have to check that out.

As a related subject, Survivor premieres tonight.

Oh, that’s right! Mel White is on this season of TAR!

I was clicking through all the teams, thinking, “Man, that’s a lot of white teeth!”…until I got to Linda and Steve.

Looks like I’m going back to shoving my kids into their beds at 7:57 on Sunday nights for a while…

I need to check the team list out. I’m so excited about the show starting tomorrow! This time of year there is nothing to interfere with the time it starts, right? Oh, yay! TAR!!

Wow, seems like the last one just ended. Great to see it back, though.

Just checked out the bios. Looks like they are again not including an alpha male team. The two male teams they have look pretty non-threatening.

I don’t know – the team made up of two stuntmen looks pretty good to me. They could be the team to beat, especially if they make it to the last leg. It looks like there are two obligatory teams of good-looking women – the former NFL cheerleaders and the flight attendants, and a few “We’re here to test our relationship” teams.

Any early bets on who’ll be the first to go?

Nobody really stands out like the beekeepers last year. You knew they were gone before Phil said “Go!”

But I guess if I was forced to pick it would be Linda and Steve (the middle aged married couple), Brad and Victoria (the other middle aged married couple) or Luke and Margie (the deaf kid and his mom).

Brad and Victoria are in very good shape. They do orienteering at the Columbus Ohio club. I figure they make it at least halfway.

Thank you! I came to this thread to find out where I’ve seen his son, Mike, before. As soon as I saw him, I knew he was an actor but couldn’t remember what I knew him from. According to wikipedia, he was in The Good Girl. He was the guy who invited Jennifer Aniston’s character to Bible study.

runaway cheese!

This cheese task is awesome! I love watching the workers crack up.

Spoilers because of West coasters:

The thing about the cheese task that some people might not realize is that it’s not only heavy with bad tools on an ugly slope. It’s high altitude. Listen to those people gasp for air as they move the cheeses.

I can’t express enough how much I hate Phil’s sweater. I’m pretty sure I had one like it in 1985…and I was a 15 year old girl.

I had a feeling the team who went was going.

If you’re already bickering and it’s not even 24 hours out, you’re doomed.

Last season the frat boys were arguing before they got on the first plane and they somehow lurched into the final three. I was kind of hoping for a first round pink team elimination just for a change.

Well, yeah, but that team was Dead Men Walking way past the point they should have been dumped out of an airplane midflight.
