Lots of highlights this season.
When I first read that “David & Lori are a couple from Manhattan”, I was a little taken aback…and then I read “Kansas”. Ohhhhh.
Personally, I don’t think John and Scott are closeted at all—their bios mention an AIDS ride and Provincetown and, while none of that automatically equals gay (and gay doesn’t automatically equal couple), they’re not exactly hiding things that might lend that tone.
I hate so many of them on sight…I can’t wait!
I kind of got the impression that they are “in-laws” as well as lifelong friends, somehow – as in, they wanted to go on but their significant others didn’t so they just went on the show together, like I want to do with my brother in law. (There could be some “living vicariously” on my part, though.) I would also like to mention that – on my monitor, anyway – one of them (Scott?) looks like Arvid from “Head of the Class,” way back when.

And BJ and Tyler may have some hidden depths. The story of Tyler’s walk across Japan is actually really fun. It’s even a video on Google Videos ( warning, it’s an hour long).
(And no, I don’t find this stuff, I have far more obsessive friends who do.)

Yea, I might root for the older couple, they’re due.
Or the ones form Manhattan-David & Lori. She’s an Assistant mgr at Pizza Hut, he’s afraid of heights, and they just want to see other cultures. Hoo boy! I always go for the underdog. My favorites have been eliminated in the first episode the last 3 seasons. 
I think Lisa and Joni might be fun to watch, until they get annoying. But I have a feling they’re outta here early.
So, um…ah…are Danielle’s boobs fake? C’mon, you were thinking it too.
I might be in luck. I hear that “Supernatural” is moving to Thurdays on the week of March 16th. If I estimate correctly, that’s just two weeks of overlap with TAR. A couple of well timed repeats and I’m free and clear.
Looks like you people may have to put up with me in those Amazing Race threads after all.

I won’t have a chance to look at the teams until this afternoon, but you know I’m with rockle on Team Nerd. Otto. your dibs are noted, but we may whine later. 
What color should the T-shirts be, do you think? I was thinking purple, with “NERDS” be-dazzled on it rhinestone sparkles, but I’m pretty flexible.
I’ve got a lavender shirt that says I Heart Nerds, with a picture of Millhouse on it–I’d prefer blue or green, but I’m down with the sparkles.
Either of those is fine. But just so you know, my “I Heart Nerds” T-shirt has Ian’s picture on it.
My best friend and I have submitted our applications for TAR 10. I just want to go on record that we are not the closeted (or openly) gay couple. For that matter, neither are we the old couple, black couple, dating couple, or mother/daughter couple.

Seriously. Is your friend a Doper too? Will you randomly say things like “1920’s style death ray” and “Hi, Opal!” and “When come back, bring pie”? Because that would be AWESOME in great big sparkly capital letters, and I totally want to run your fan club.

“You eat stupid food for breakfast!” Yeah, there’s lots of Doper shout-outs you could use. Have you gotten a pre-call yet? I know of one other applicant team that has. They’re dying of anticipation, needless to say.
Not yet, but we were really pushing it to get our applications in on time. They were due on 1/20 and we were just able to get it to them on 1/19. So I expect they’ve got quite a few to go through before they get to us.
Is there anyone we need to call on your behalf? Phil? Kevin & Drew? Anybody? Because I can honestly say that nothing in the world would make me happier right now than being able to say “OHMIGOD THAT’S MAX CARNAGE AND HIS FRIEND AND I KNOW THE FROM THE SDMB SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!” Seriously.
