The scaffolding for the inauguration is making it very difficult to clear that side of the capital.
It seems as if the Pentagon (and SecDef) is coordinating National Guard response with Pence. Trump is no where involved in this. Almost like a soft 25th Amendment at this point.
The options were that either you were crazy or the country was.
Turns out it was the country.
And it has started. Trumpers rioted and invaded the Capitol building today, at Trump’s direction. One woman was shot and killed trying to break down the chamber doors.
“The courts” did call to hear evidence - there was none presented. The Supreme Court declined to hear the cases because the cases were without merit.
And does anybody else see the irony and hypocrisy of arguing we need to delay the certification and delay the inauguration, when in 2000 they argued the legal recount that was going on was taking too long and they needed to certify so the Electoral College could convene on time? (A recount that, by the way, eventually showed Gore had more votes.)

Full disclosure: I tend to use hyperbole myself as a rhetorical device. I agreed with the points you were trying to get across. Hyperbole, sarcasm, parody, and mocking are often effective tools.

Has anyone seen any information about the other three people who died during the riot? Even given reasonable assumptions about the cardiac health of your average Trump supporter, it seems astounding to me that there would be three fatal heart attacks among them in the span of a few hours.
The other three were “suicide” - meaning Hillary had them killed.

The mayor clarified that capital police has jurisdiction of the capital and the grounds. Dc metropolitan police can not go in unless asked. Met police was called in around 1pm, after things had deteriorated badly.
The three people who died from medical emergencies were 2 men in their 50’s and one woman in her 30’s.
The fencing that is going up around the capital is a 7 foot fence that reported can not be scaled. It will be up for at least 30 days.
The mayor is calling on the new president, congress, and senate to present dc for statehood, and to place the dc national guard under the mayor.
