This election is tearing our community apart!
The inauguration of Joe Biden won’t have any effect on Trumpists. After all, until a few weeks ago the story was “don’t worry, the KRAKEN!!!1! will win the election!” Then that died and it was “the Texas lawsuit will change everything.” Then that failed and they fell back on “it’s not over until the Electoral College votes.” Then the EC voted 306-232 Biden and now it’s “they’ll overturn it in Congress.” They will not overturn it in Congress but that will make no difference; then an already popular idea, “President Trump can declare martial law and cancel the election and arrest Joe Biden” will be their thing. After January 20 it’ll be something else, probably “if we have Biden impeached, then Trump can be President again” or something.
There is NO POINT, no information, no event, that will sway Trumpists. It’s a cult now. They are obsessed with him.
Or, at a minimum, a healthy dose of Vaseline and something bigger than a standard 3’0" door.
Since many of them apparently thought Trump’s impeachment was “an attempt to undo the election” that would have made Hillary president, I wouldn’t be shocked if they thought this was an achievable outcome.
It’s causing a cleavage in our unity!
Another data point to consider, which doesn’t stop 45 from running his mouth, is that the guv’mint money for him to do things will dry up pretty quickly. There’s his PAC money he’s been grifting since the election, and possibly some RNC money. But with the city of Palm Beach fighting his attempt to actually live in Mar-A-Lago, and all the normal trappings of the Presidency drying up, his personal pocketbook will start taking hits, which IMO will grind this faux Presidency to a halt, at least as regards concrete actions. Of course, he’ll make as much noise as he always has, although I do hope Twitter finds the courage to enforce their own rules on him. And I further hope that news coverage goes WAY down. We shall all see.

Remember a hundred years ago, during Trump’s impeachment, some of his defenders said that the proper remedy for those who disagreed with Trump was to vote him out of office. I wonder how many of the people who said that now refuse to accept that it happened.
For lots of Trump supporters, reality is nothing but endlessly moving goalposts.
