Um…RikJay? Are we getting an update on this before Queen week? 
Since I did choose Ace for week seven, I definitely want to see an update to this thread. Time for spreadsheet monkey RickJay to jump into action.
I hope I’m not stepping on RickJay’s toes here, but because I’m really into this whole thing, I went ahead and totted up some interim scores. RickJay, please feel free to come back and take over any old time.
So far nobody has a trifecta, so no bonus points are in play, although jsgoddess came close a couple of times.
Current standings (I am not promising these are 100% accurate, as my spreadsheet fu is not strong):

Only Mostly Dead: 9
RickJay, scotandrsn, vaderspal, RachelChristine: 8
Then there are a whole bunch of people tied at 7. Lowest score so far is 1 point.

Thanks from me, also MsWhatsit! I too, had no idea I had done so well. I guess I got lucky that I guessed Ace would go when he did.
My top 2 are gone, so I don’t think I stand a chance of winning, placing or showing. Still, thanks for the update because I was curious.
With my 1-week-off guess of Paris (I thought she’d go last week; that makes three in a row I missed by one week), I now have nine points. Woo-hoo!
Well I get a point for Paris, because I was off a week, so I’m at 9 after last night. Go me!! And I think I have a chance of doing pretty well as my top 5 were:
- Chris
- Katharine
- Taylor
- Paris
- Elliott
It’s entirely plausible that I’ll get a one off for Elliott and the rest in order. Oooh, I wonder how close I could get to winning? I wonder if I can pull a trifecta out? I’m so excited!

If Taylor gets the boot next week, Liberal might get our first trifecta! Point scoring should increase from here on out, because a lot of people have Taylor, Katharine, and Chris in their top 3 or 4. (Elliott is a bit of a dark horse.)
Liberal requested his own suspension back in late March and hasn’t posted since (his profile syas charter member, but his old posts don’t list a post count any more, so I’m not sure he re-upped), so I think he’s out of the competition.
DialIdol.com has shown Taylor Hicks with a commanding lead for the past 4 or 5 weeks, so I think the final showdown in this thread will be koeeoadi and Walter Windchill, who are the only ones to place him first on their lists.
Obviously, I think too much about reality TV.
Well, I certainly didn’t see that one coming. Interesting fact: not one single person picked Chris Daughtry as the #5 bootee. Although a lot of people did have him as #4, so it was kind of a point-tastic week. New standings:

Nobody’s set up for a trifecta, and it also looks as though (sorry, guys) nobody is going to get the bonus points for correctly guessing #1, 2, and 3, since everybody has at least one booted contestant in their top 3. The early elimination of Mandisa, and now Chris Daughtry, have really shot a hole in our top 3 picks.

Nobody is set to pick up a trifecta at this point, which means nobody will get the 5-point bonus for correctly guessing places 1, 2, and 3 either. And, lots of people picked Taylor Hicks or Katherine McPhee to be top 2, but only one person picked them BOTH for top two, so next week might be eleusis’s big comeback week!
