Excellent word, fungible. I learned it my first year of law school and just dropped it into conversation the other day. Not to be pretentious, but because I wanted an excuse to share it with a friend.
Oh, and so that this isn’t a hijack, I think that every week (except the first one), Trump has fired the most competent person in the boardroom. JennC was bad enough that I wasn’t outraged, but every other week I’ve been pissed and every week my interest in watching the show has waned. I’m betting JennM is the next woman to go, because she’s the only one who isn’t horrible.
I’m late getting to this thread, some late nights, and a weekend trip. But a few comments and observations.
I also think Pamela didn’t deserve to be fired, but I also didn’t think she had a real shot at winning either, so it really doesn’t matter.
I thought she handled the women in exactly the right manner. While she hadn’t had to work with any of them yet, she did have to live with them, and hear their constant harping. So because she heard all the childishness that went on in prep for previous boardrooms, and didn’t get a chance to see if anyone had any real work skills, that’s what she based her management style on.
Also, I’m not sure what these people don’t understand about management. When you’re in charge of a project, that is your job. Being in charge. Not running off copies, or writing the script, or any of that other crap, but keeping the big picture in mind, and everything on track.
I also don’t know that they would have won had they lowered the price. At $19.99, they would have had to sell 898 units, 239 more than they did. About a third as many. I’m not sure in the time allotted, that’s a realistic argument. That’s a huge amount of volume to make up. And I also agree that the task should have been which team made the highest profit, not the highest gross amount.
Still an entertaining show, and one that I’ll keep watching. I do think most posters are correct when they say he chooses the person that most annoys him, or that will prove the least amusing in weeks to come.
Thank you for reminding me! It pissed me off to no end when Ivana whined about how Pamela wasn’t taking any responsibilities for herself. “Waaaah…she assigned us all jobs but not herself so she wouldn’t get blamed…” Um, excuse me? The success or failure of the whole entire task was her responsibility.
