"The Apprentice" 11/11 (Spoilers)

This thread is dedicated to the discussion and analysis of the episode of “The Apprentice” to be aired on Thursday, 11/11.

If you do not wish to have any events of said show spoiled for you, do not read this thread until after viewing the show.

It is possible – nay, likely – that people might start posting about the events of the episode before the end of the broadcast.

Viewers on the West Coast should keep in mind that on the East Coast, we have completed viewing two hours before the show begins for you.

It’s way too early to start the thread – but I just picked up my November issue of Vogue (a moment’s silence while people wrap their brains around the fact that I’m a 20-year Voguesubscriber). In this month’s issue, there’s an eight-page advertising spread featuring all of this season’s competitors, starting on page 179.

Go check it out. It’s … yikes.

Oh, right – and this week’s episode takes place in a bridal salon. Do you think that was planned as soon as Sandy was cast? and do you think it was dependent on her still being in the game at this point? Bigmouth Chris will be leading his team – it’s hard to imagine a scenario where that goes well. Are they the team that “takes one of the biggest beatings ever,” as touted on the website? Who will lead the other team? Will it be Sandy herself?

Speaking of the website, I happened to notice that Heidi now has commentaries in addition to Omarosa.

From last week’s thread:

From Heidi’s commentary:

Holy cow, I’m channelling Heidi! This better not persist this week. :dubious:
Also, twickster, we need more dirt on why the Vogue spread is yikes. Don’t be such a tease!

It’s hard to describe – you really should thumb through a copy the next time you pass a newsstand (or are stuck in line at the supermarket). Each of the 18 is featured in one of the eight pictures (three two-page spreads and two single-pagers). All of them are in business attire, and they’re set up in these … tableaux … shot against a bright background as though in a penthouse office.

There’s one with little Stacey and Chris (I think it’s Chris, it’s actually hard to recognize some of these people) staring at each other from opposite sides of the double-page spread, with Bradford and Sandy (?) looking at Chris, Kevin with his foot up on the benchlike seat looking more at Trump, who’s standing behind the group and looking askance at Stacey. Trump (I think it’s Trump, though who the hell knows, it could be a celebrity double) has a corona around him.

Seriously. Check it out.

I think this is about the episode where they should really have a “Two Apprentices enter, one Apprentice walks out” fight to the death. It would liven things up a tad.

I have to think that Chris gets knocked out after taking one of the biggest beatings ever. It just seems so unlikely that a team with a bridal salon owner could lose a task in a bridal salon. They might as well have a challenge that involves dunking and have me square off against the departed munchkin Stacy.

The only way I see Sandy’s team losing is if she isn’t PM and the PM in her place ignores everything she says. And, I just don’t see anyone being that stupid. Someone may not want to make Sandy look good by letting her dominate their leadership task, but they have to know that not listening to someone with specific knowledge is tantamount to being fired.

As an addition to post-show critiques, a few pre-show thoughts.

So, Chris goes home. He was never a contender anyway. From worst to first (in terms of likelihood of wining), the remaining contestants are:
Chris - Brash but dull. In last due to the circumstances of this challenge. May he pleasantly surprise us and provide an exciting moment.
Ivana - Guh. She’s awful. Has yet to provide a positive moment and is around more for being able to demonize others and provide less obvious weakness. But, she’s done after Trump’s boardroom words from last week.
Maria - Much like Ivana, she is weak. Not inherently awful, but not a leader.
Wes - Not necessarily bad, but certainly not good.
Sandy - One PM win and one handpicked task do not obscure 9 some odd weeks of nothingness.
Those 5 are out of it. None of them stands a chance of winning at all.
Andy - Won’t win because of age and some past serious missteps, but he is getting editing as the plucky underdog which likely means he goes far and represents a rooting interest.
Kelly - 2 weeks ago, I say he wins going away, but he has become much more surly and is portrayed as a hardline hardass. That’s not going to win it.
Kevin - Really solid and willing to say what he thinks, but he also seems to fold a bit in the boardroom. If this translates to final round interviewing, he’s in trouble.
Jenn M. - Solidly capable, much like Bill last year. Sh’e not too often in the middle of drama and always seems to add to whatever she is working on. She is rarely shown in editing to be off the mark in her assessments and Trump continually asks her opinions of others. This was Bill in season 1. I also think she will benefit from Trump’s likely desire to not add another white dude to his company.

Mullinator, I don’t think Kevin has good instincts. He doesn’t have the tactical expertise Jenn M. exhibits.

I have no idea who I’d put in his place, though. Good lord.

Just to bump the thread, what would Chris have to do this week to give him a good chance of surviving a trip to the boardroom? Winning would be good, of course; but what if Apex loses?

Hmmm, seems like no one can spin any kind of scenario where he doesn’t get his ass handed to him – bummer.

Since I’ve been wrong on every prediction I’ve ever made…

…I predict Jenn M will lose!

If Chris’s team don’t win, he goes; unless one on his team screws up royally.

Any thoughts on how bad the “car wreck” will be?

(You KNOW Burnett was happy that happened!)

Kelly = ass

They’re not exactly building a lot of suspense about who’s going to get fired…unless they’re using some really good misdirection.

What the hell with Chris not giving a shit?

And what the hell with Maria messing up on the phone number? (Hm, maybe Chris won’t be the worst project manager here…)

I want Kevin to work for me. And it looks like Maria lucked out.

This is a bloodbath. I’m kind of disappointed because I hate Maria and she’s a total liar.

Yikes. Two dresses!?!?!?!?

Aww man de frickin’ vendahs messed up! We didn’t sell no frickin’ dresses!

This is the second time Maria has effed up royally and gotten away with it. I hope the laws of karma catch up with her soon.

Chris = toast.

How uneven are the teams?
