Errr…that would be cutting-room floor… :smack:
The best moment of this episode wasn’t aired on NBC. It took place in my living room, after Troy picked Kwame and both continued maintaining positive opinions of each other.
Ms. Undhow – a woman of considerable business experience – turned to me and said “and THAT is why I love working with men and hate working with women.”
Those two guys were the anti-Ereka.
I agree with the first half of this point – but not the second. She claims to be in demand as a TV pundit and “motivational speaker,” but then she claimed to have a concussion, despite all evidence to the contrary.
Doesn’t matter. She’s saying it and people are believing it. That’s all that counts. Look at The Donald himself. EVERYTHING he owns is the “best” or the “greatest” or the “most amazing” or the “most luxurious” in the entire “city,” “country,” or “world.”
Yeah, I didn’t think of that. A lot of them will get decent offers.
I can’t eell you how impressed I was (as Trump seemed to be as well) when Troy picked Kwame. Finally, I think, he’s not just looking out for his buddy. But of course Troy couldn’t pick Bill, who witnessed first-hand how bad he flamed out trying to bring that one guy up to $38,000. So I think, that’s it. Kwame’s floating career is ovah. Man. I’m still having trouble processing it.
Becasue Troy was never a “loose cannon.” That’s painting him with so broad a brush as to be ridiculous. He was easily one the three most fearsome opponents of any of them. Smarts, savvy, charm… the guy was just blessed. So he shot a little far sometimes, may have occasionally stepped over the line. Cripes, if all the guys who did that in the business world today were fired, there’d be a lot of empty buildings on Madison Avenue right now.
Pfft. Bill and Amy were blown a kiss from the gods on that one. They were toast. And yeah, Bill’s just a skunk for that gay thing. Though I can’t say I would’ve resisted doing something similar to that Nick! Freakin gene splice, that guy is.
I was a little surprised at Troy’s dismissal but upon reflection, I think Trump just looked at like an employer considering job applicants. When you get right down to it Trump was choosing between a guy with a Harvard MBA and a job at Goldman Saks and a likeable, energetic guy with a high school diploma and his own business. You can’t really say that the Donald was wrong. Like he said. He’s looking to make someone responsible for millions of dollars and an education really does mean something.
I think Troy would make a great boss of a small to medium company and that he would inspire loyalty in his employees but he probably isn’t qualified for what Trump is looking for.
Kwame needs to do something quick to distinguish himself, though. A Harvard MBA is nice but he can’t get hired on that alone.
My heart is broken! I’m so shocked Troy won’t be fighting for it at the end - I really did think it was going to come down to him or Amy.
However, my dad, who used to be an executive VP, says he wouldn’t hire Troy in an important position. I think he sees him as a loose cannon, too - I guess I see his point, but when he has a good idea it’s always fantastic.
I really thought Bill would go, but then I never thought Troy would bring Kwame to the boardroom. I love Troy and Kwame so much, I was really torn on that one. They’re so cute together in their little male bonding act. Awwww.
Amy, on the other hand, I believe I am learning to despise.
By the way, I have to call bullshit on Nick and Amy getting somebody to just walk back in with two minutes remaining and offer them 40 grand. That just doesn’t smell right to me.
" When you really think about it, who the hell REALLY wants to have to work for Donald Trump for the next year at a set salary?"
Yeah, my guess is that the much-touted job as “president of one of Trump’s companies” turns out to be being CEO of Apprentice Promotions Inc. And my guess is that the responsibilities of said CEO consist of traveling around the nation and promoting the Apprentice at finer car shows and grocery store openings everywhere.
You think? I get the impression Trump is taking this pretty seriously. I doubt he’ll turn over the keys to the corporate jet, but I can see him giving the winner an actual job.
Oh, I agree 100%. But, than again, I hate working with ANYONE. Heh.
Anyway, good to know I wasn’t the only one who thought it was ooohhh sooo convienient that Versacorp managed to get the big deal. Feh. Course I was actually routing for them, so I was happy. Heh.
Honestly, the whole time I was thinking there would be some twist where Trump would realize that Nick and Amy closed the deal after 7 PM, thus causing them to lose. I was hoping to see them get all excited, then deflated. But after reading some of these posts, and thinking about it harder, I definitely think that was a setup. What were they doing just sitting there in the lobby for so long? I DO NOT believe they would have just given up like that. “Oh well, the highest bid we got was 10k, toooo bad.” I think they knew something grand was going to happen.
I love this show, it’s addicting and all that, but this last thing really pissed me off. That was a messed up attempt to keep things juicy. Plus, I think Trump and his team want Nick and Amy to go up against the last 2. So letting them lose would have been a bummer for them.
Why is Amy so annoying and back and forth? One minute, there is nothing between her and Nick, the next minute she’s telling Nick’s dad that she was excited about meeting her future Father-in-law. That girl is crazy. The angry/sad look on her face when Moose (Nick’s Dad) busted Nick wide open was confusing. She needs to get her story together.
I wasn’t very surprised to see Troy go. It was just instinct in me I guess. But I will say this: I think there is ALOT that goes on that we don’t see. Obviously. The show isn’t done live, because the missions wouldn’t work, and so home viewers cannot vote. Editing does a nice job of getting people at home to cheer for various individuals. I think that Trump is probably doing a better job at firing the right person than we may think. There is more than likely a lot more that influences his decsions that we do not get to see.
Also, what was that thing that Troy handed over to Trump? I cannot recall, but I remembered thinking “This reminds me of when Sam recited Trump’s entire family tree. Kissing butt maybe?”

What’s this shit with Bill feeling the need to stir the Amy/Nick turd? Is he trying to play them against one another because he wants Amy to realize Nick is a pig and coming running into his welcoming arms? (Evidently, they’ve got some kind of little thing going on now, so maybe so.) Is he trying to stir up shit so they’ll be a less effective team? What? And how pathetic is it that he’s stooping to such measures, either way?
And what’s up with Little Miss “Nick has a crush on me” calling Moose (gotta love a guy named Moose, even if his son is an obnoxious little prick) her father-in-law? Either it’s an unreciprocated crush, or there’s something there. Pick one and stick with it, 'cause you can’t have it both ways, even if you can have your ridiculous deux ex machina win.
As for my man Troy getting the boot, I’m disappointed but not really surprised. Trump’s never really liked Troy, after all, and Bernie’s right in saying that Troy’s not ready for that level yet. (I don’t really see any of them as ready for that level yet, to be honest.)
“They better not use MY bedroom on that plane!!”
Count me in with the crowd that thinks the last-minute win stunk to high heaven, too. The only thing I can think of is that they lost the deal originally because of the lease terms, which they apparently didn’t have the power to modify, so maybe the powers that be decided they deserved to make the deal after all. Maybe.
Bill is kind of a jerk, apparently.
As for the last second gift from the gods… I wasn’t watching too closely when it happened, but were the people who came back the same people who thought Troy was playing them?
If so, then maybe they came back just to make sure Troy’s team lost. If if it was them at all.
Nope. It was another team. The one that were talking to the lovebirds earlier, but left because they were looking at a New Years’ party, and the lease said they had to vacate by midnight.
Wow. That seems very suspicious.
Especially considering the prices that Troy’s team was told the place usually went for.
This show has some serious outside factors weighing in.
This is the second time someone came in at the last minute to finish the deal, no questions asked. There is no way in hell that’s legit, there’s some BS going on and I don’t like it.
I was surprised Trump rebuked Troy’s team for getting the information on how much the place had gone for in the past, and then using that information to determine what they tried to lease it for.
According to him, that blew it for them from the start. But it was actually a very sound strategy. The only flaw is if someone comes along and literally begs to pay more than anyone ever had before, even though the place did not fit their requirements, and despite poor salesmanship.
Exactly - when they said that Troy v. Kwame was a hard one, I didn’t think it was because they were both great (they both have potential - and someday… but I don’t think today is that day.), but that neither one of them is going to be “The Apprentice” and it’s a matter of which Trump fired first.
