I know Troy seems to be the golden boy, but I think Amy’s going to be the one Trump selects. I’ve followed Trump off and on since just before “The Art of The Deal” days, and she is much more in keeping with the type of women he hires than Troy is in keeping with the type of men he hires. She is college educated, smooth, intelligent, gets along well with all sorts of personality types, and her look in general (trim, smartly dressed, professional) is very much in keeping with what I’ve seen of almost all of his female executives.

One big drawback to Troy, in my opinion, is his lack of a college education. If Trump has or ever had an executive who wasn’t a college graduate I’m not aware of it. I think Troy would encounter difficulty being accepted in the Trump culture due to his lack of a college degree and he would probably feel out of place sitting in a boardroom full of graduates of prestigious colleges. Plus Troy has shown he can falter in unfamiliar waters, whereas I think Amy has the poise to deal with pretty much any situation that comes up.

Troy could be a dark horse though, because of his family situation and the fact he sacrificed his education to provide for them.

Hm, I think Troy really works the “dumb hick” thing pretty successfully. I think it’s part of his charm.

Nah, it’s going to be Troy. I’d put money on it. (Although, I would take Amy if you gave me 2-1 or better odds!)

I originally posted this thread prior to last night’s episode. In lieu of last night’s events, how many now think Amy will prevail?

I vote for Troy…smart, flexible, hardworking and a decent human being, or so it seems. If I were Trump, I might even make the job contingent on his going to school to get his degree. Like it or not, people do pass judgement on the lack of a degree in some circles, so why let that get in the way? It’s never too late to acquire new skills or new credentials that will make you more valuable.
