Remember, this is The Apprentice we’re talking about. Both teams are full of losers.
Where are our ratings???
How will I know what to think until I’ve read them?
I was wondering the same thing – but Mullinator only posted three times in the entire month of February. Hmph. Like there are things more important than keeping us entertained! (Rysler and I started discussing the Rancic-Perdew corollary in the middle of the first episode; a very useful epistemological tool, that.)
Alright so without our normal ratings so far, I’ve taken a stab at it though I admit after one episode there are an awful lot of people in the “unknown” clump… So without further ado I introduce the: The Ronin Raj Ratings!
Lost in the Mine
Summer - Never stop the Trump train when it’s headed towards the firing station.
Panning for Gold - Hoping to get a break
Tarek - You’ve got a second chance thanks to Summer, now you’re neck’s in a noose and unless you do some magic - your gold rush is over.
Brent - Already on the ropes. You’re amazingly defensive and irritating. You need to get your act together and be professional, from the looks of next week though it can’t happen soon enough.
Got your pick axe - You’re at least working
Pepi, Stacy, Tammy, Theresa, Roxanne, Andrea, Bryce, Dan, Leslie, Michael - You didn’t do anything to stick out in my mind. You’re still here and doing fine.
Charmaine - Your southern twang is absolutely soul crushing, I love it. You worked and did your part but you’re still part of the pack.
Found some gold dust - It’s a start
Allie - Your chearleading lead your team to victory. You’ve at least got something going your way.
Lee - You were brought into the boardroom by the resident retard Tarek and you defended yourself well. Trump likes his young superstars so long as they shine, and your calm in the boardroom is a good start.
Lenny - Another boardroom survivor, you did your job this week and you also stayed cool under fire. But Trump doesn’t like people who let themselves get pushed around, so no more trips to Siberia for you. Break some knee caps if you have to.
Sean - You and that charming british accent have at least some credibility with your team as a good salesperson. So we’ll bump you ahead of the pack in hopes of keeping ahead.
Cashing in the Nugget - On the gravy train
Looks like the ratings went over like a lead balloon.
I liked 'em – I esp. liked the gold theme, that being The Donald’s favorite color and all.
Ya done good, kid.
Sweetie, everybody was probably watching Lost or American Idol. You did good.
Not at all, I enjoyed them.
You need to be a bit snarkier, but that’ll come as we learn who the contestants really are and begin to despise them more.
I’m wondering about Lenny. That last comment of his as he left the board room (that Turok or whatever his stupid name is) hasn’t been saved ‘for long’ was very funny – but it was capping what Donald no doubt thought was the ‘final word’ on a subject, and I’ve a feeling DT doesn’t much like serving as the straight man.
Don’t know the names yet, but I really didn’t like the blonde on Goldrush who was spouting Turok’s party line on how their loss was all Summer’s fault. Teamplayer is one thing, but she came across more as happy to help savage anyone who was down to keep any attention off herself.
We’ll see.
bump and a reminder that we’re going to try just doing a single thread for the season. See y’all back here at 9!
I’ve been wanting to say that Tarek sounds like a Vulcan name. I will say it now.
Brent has obviously never heard of the Rancic-Perdew corollary.
Am I alone in thinking Stacey is a bitch?
I love the facial expressions when they get charity “rewards.”
Yeah, it’s obvious that they really, really want to give away nice clothes instead of getting them.
I’m so tired of the Junior High School, “gang up on the fat kid” bullshit. Trent is a tool but he’s not the reason they lost and Stacy is totally full of crap about being “threatened.” I suppose it’s a foregone conclusion that trent will be fired but I hope Stacy goes with him.
Trump has learned to recognize when someone is getting railed and so he didn’t get rid of Brent. But as he points out, Brent will self-destruct or shine from here on out.
Nope.
Atleast Brent comfronted her away from the others. Stacey shouldn’t have complained to the others about it. And if she hadn’t been such a bitch in the first place, Brent wouldn’t have needed to confront her.
Indeed.
That worked out pretty righteously. Good on Trump for recognizing the railroad job and for seeing through the “He/she is crazy and scares us” tactic as well. He fired the right people but also let it be known that he fully recognizes what a goober Brent is and expects to be firing him soon. Good choices. Trump is getting better at this. He isn’t falling for Boardroom manipulations any more.
Ivanka came across pretty well. She did a good job of summarizing what she saw and recognizing the implications of it. She’s no Carolyn, of course – but her participation seemed a little less nepotistic than Martha Stewart’s daughter’s participation.
And, yeah, Dio, I agree, Trump was very clear about what he was seeing and what they were doing. These firings seemed a little less arbitrary than some of his massacres have been: Stacy was a weasel, and Pepi was incompetent. The other two, though one was an asshole and the other an idiot, weren’t really at fault.
Question, though – the bathrobe thing was clearly so lame, why did they all agree to do it? I can see tossing it out as an idea while brainstorming, but the immediate reaction to it should have been “no way.” Why wasn’t that the reaction?
