"The Apprentice," Season Five

Ask yourself, “WWKTD?” (What would Kendra Todd do?) Then go forth and do the same.

Me? The very first time the call was made for a project leader, this is what I would say (BTW, the point is to do this while Trump in in earshot: it’s a bold claim, but a bold claim that succeeds is something he is likely to reward.)
"I volunteer to run this project. I also want to let you all know that I intend to volunteer to be Project Manager EVERY SINGLE time. Why? Because I believe that I have the skills needed to manage a group project well, and sincerely believe that a project I am in charge of has the best chance of succeeding.

"No, I didn’t expect to be made PM every time – if some other volunteer has special knowledge, if the team chooses another volunteer over me, if it simply comes down to ‘I’ve had a chance to lead and Volunteer Smith hasn’t yet’ – fine. I’ll be a loyal and hard-working team member. But I’ve watched the prior seasons and been disgusted by the many cases where an entire team sits around and says, well, I’ll do it if you insist… ’

"Why do they say that instead of volunteering? I can only think of two reasons. Either they themselves don’t believe they are the best leader in the group OR they are already trying to cover their ass in the case of a loss. ‘They forced me into it,’ they’ll whine in the Boardroom.

"Well, I don’t know about the rest of you, but to me either attitude signals a poor leader. The best way for the members of a team to continue on is to WIN. Win each and every task. Do you want to be the one who ends up going home become some half-reluctant leader isn’t giving it all he can do?

“I don’t. So, no matter what the task, the team I am on will always have someone who volunteers whole-heartedly to lead and will always go at it full out.”

At which point the whole team will hate me, of course. But if I can come through, especially with an early win or two…wooo! I’d be golden.

Who was the drama queen who had to run away all traumatized because the fat guy didn’t get fired? What a bitch.

Loved Lenny smacking down the guys trying to get out of work by playing the religion card.

Nah, sorry, he lost points with me for that.

And Trump made it clear that he won’t allow them to blame a loss (if any) on their decision.

Lenny effing up on the generator … that’s not good.

If those guys wanted to sit around in a synagogue instead of working, they shouldn’t have applied for the show, They’re just lazy. Lenny was right to call them on it.

These are the high holy days. Sometimes one’s obligation to God takes precedence over one’s obligation to The Donald.

I’m going to miss Lenny. When the Trump Corner Chat was about the need to be flexible, I knew the Russian was in the sights…

If that’s something they really cared about then they shouldn’t have gone on the show. I don’t they can expect to have it both ways. I think they were just using it as an excuse to get out of work.

I guess we’ll just have to disagree, Dio. They wouldn’t have known when the overall competition would be when they applied, and they wouldn’t know that they would schedule a specific task for that specific day.

Word. I like Lenny. He’s a straight forward guy who doesn’t tolerate any bullshit. I also enjoy his open contempt for the other players.

Fine by me. It’s not worth arguing about. I’m happy to stop hijacking the thread now.

You know that Seinfeld where Jerry has a girlfriend who looks creepy in the daylight? That’s how Gold Rush looked in the boardroom. Gotta be the ugliest Apprentice team ever!

Why do the PMs continue to make such dumbass decisions in who to bring back to the Boardroom? The comedian picker was a total gimme! Come on.

Lenny should have been their comedian? WTF? I don’t even think Lenny knows he’s being funny.

Esp. when Trump practically tells them who to bring in!

He has open contempt for everyone period. Unfortunatly, Trump likes him and will save his ass every time he gets dragged into the boardroom.

Sigh. You may disagree with their religious views (I certainly do), and you may disagree with their religious obligations (ditto), but that does NOT make them lazy. Not by a long shot.

Another good firing. Her event was a disaster from start to finish. Not only that but she did the thing that Trump hates almost as much as being interrupted. She brought the wrong people into the Board Room.

The other PM did a pretty decent job of neutralizng Brent. He still didn’t contribute anything but she kept him from doing any damage. She basically gave him a coloring book and some crayons and let him color in a corner.

Okay, so I was wrong. He fired the ineffective little pekingese-dog woman. Good call, given who was in the Boardroom.

I couldn’t take my eyes off her boobs. :dubious:

Why did they even need a generator? For the comedian’s mic? Would have been better off without one.

Didn’t Tarek bitch early on about not being allowed to spend money on artificial turf for the golf thing?

Theresa sucked.
