So what was the oldest "Ask the … " thread? Who started it all?
Pretty sure it was Esprix’s “Ask the Gay Guy,” found at the bottom of the “Threads in a Series/Has Sequels” category in post 2 above.
I dunno. Some seemed to have 16 or 17 posts but weren’t all that exciting…I browsed some of them and most seemed to get hijacked or just talk idly in there without asking questions…so I decided to make the cut off rate about there.
Recently, CKDexterHaven put up this sticky in the About This Messageboard forum, called *“Beginner’s Guide to Glossary of Terms on Straight Dope Message Boards”. *
That thread is closed now, but maybe we could ask Dex to add just one more post, linking to this thread.

Yeah, I’ll update it sometime with all of the Ask The Threads that were made after I posted this sometime.
A tip: if you wanted to update your list in one single new OP, so readers don’t have to wade througth the various posts, it might come in handy to know all you’d have to do is click on the “reply with quote” button and copy & paste whatever you find in the box that pops up. Maybe you already knew that, but if you didn’t it might make it easier for you to make more of these neat lists.
