The Asshole Motherfucking Murderous Criminal Hawthorne Cops Who Killed the Rottweiler

As much as it pains me, I have to agree with Debaser. As far as the cops knew, the dog was a danger, and the cops did act correctly. I blame the owner for this dog’s death.

And goddammit, this clip is just horrific. I need to go home and hug my dogs, now.

Let me get this straight, the police are there because of an armed robbery and someone with questionable intent comes up after the fact, interferes with their investigation, is uncooperative and introduces a large, unleashed, potentially dangerous dog into the middle of the scene. Are those the basic facts?

Then Rosby is a goddamn idiot and his actions were the trigger that caused a routine situation to escalate into a lethal encounter.

The dog owner is at fault here, not the cops.

I am outraged at such senseless acts of cruelty!

OUTRAGED!

FUCK!

FUCK!

FUCK!!!

Debaser and everyone else here defending the police actions can blow it out your ass.

I’ll grant that it could have been a threat, but most certainly NOT a deadly one. I can even admit that the owner is at fault for not properly restraining his dog, but people do make mistakes and the dog did not deserve that kind of punishment. For fucks sake, the owner put him away in the car. I highly doubt he thought the dog was going to jump out the window.

You had a handful of officers versus one dog. You don’t think for a second they could have used some other means to defuse the situation, say their billy clubs, mace, or tazers.

No, instead they shot the dog down because those cops are COWARDS. Plain and simple. They were scared of a little bite, so they just killed it instead.

It’s pretty sad how some of you are able to place all of the blame entirely on the owner and yet excuse the blatant murder of a dog by the police.

Tune in next week for another exciting episode of

Officer panaccione, Moronville P.D.!

And somehow this is evidence that the cops are evil motherfuckers! Every time I read one of these accounts I can only conclude Americans have no idea what an actual evil cop looks like.

I don’t have any problem with a cop killing a dog that’s charging at them. Billy clubs or mace is not going to work against most dogs. A tazer? Maybe, I have no idea, but I don’t blame the cops for going for their guns. In that situation, with a dog charging at me, if I had a gun I’d go for it too. I’ve been charged at by dogs before and they are fucking scary.

“Deserve’s got nothing to do with it.” -Clint Eastwood.

Of course the animal wasn’t “at fault” or “deserving” of being “murdered”. It’s not a person. None of those things apply.

Do you seriously think that the cops should just let the dog take “a little bite” out of them? How many times should they allow the dog to bite them? Do they just wait for it to tire itself out chomping on them?

You are unhinged. Dogs aren’t people.

Yeah, those things do apply. Maybe not according to the law, but to a moral human being.

I don’t think they should let the dog take a bite out of them. I think they should have used some other means to prevent the attack, like a club, mace, or a tazer.

The fact of the matter is the dog didn’t bite them. He lunged and then backed away. But, that’s all it took.

You are the one that’s unhinged. Do you seriously think their actions were justified?

It gets better. The dog owner looks like he’s a victim by trade.

This guy probably shows up everwhere the cops are operating and generally acts like a pain in the ass hoping to get another lawsuit against them. That’s probably why the cops calmly walked up and arrested him so quickly. They probably knew exactly who he was from their past run ins with him.

Well, if we’re going to speculate then…

I bet it was sweet revenge killing that dog of his.

I think the take home lesson here for all potential criminals is clear.

You can kill men. You can kill women. You can even kill children. You can kill entire families.

But when you’re killing an entire family, make sure you don’t hurt their dog. That will upset people.

No kidding. There really should be a name for this mental disorder that some people have causing them to value dogs more than humans.

If a big, unrestrained Rottweiler is showing signs that it is ready to attack me, I am not going to wait to see if I will be “simply” bitten or disfigured… or dead. I am going to stop the damn thing using *any *means necessary. My life is worth a million times more than the life of a dog.

Anybody else notice that **panaccione **has become the new BigT? I mean, **BigT **is still **BigT **but now we have two of them.

The cops did nothing wrong here and reacted with appropriate measure. If a giant dog started leaping at me in the middle of this kind of commotion, even if he just wanted to give me kisses, he’d end up dead regardless.

Also, to those suggesting he wait for the dog to actually bite him (**panaccione’s **suggestion, I believe), the dog’s still going to end up destroyed.

I’ve seen enough dog mauling victims. I am all in favor of being pro-active in preventing them. In cases of doubt, I can accept a dead dog over over a mauled person.

QtM, past dog owner and mauling victim repairer.

Yeah. Talk about your unnecessarily multiplied entities.

That would be a “Yes.”

The dog was 80 pounds. Not exactly a giant. Again, it’s sad that you feel that way. It takes guts to face a little violence and act with restraint. That’s the opposite of we saw here and the opposite of what we should expect from police officers.

So there’s plenty of outrage over this incident, but it’s actually a pretty regular occurrence. In the U.S., cops shoot dogs on average about 2-3 times/week based on what I was seeing on the Facebook page “Please, Mr. Policeman, don’t shoot my dog” before it got so depressing to me that I had to unfollow it. Frequently the dogs are shot without posing a threat–while the owner is getting control of it, while retreating, while on a leash in its own backyard, etc.

And it happens to people who call police to report a crime, when cops get the wrong address, when they pursue convicts into people’s back yards, etc. It’'s despicable, really. Interesting how frequently plumbers, cable guys, appliance repair people, et al visit residences with dogs all the time with nary an incident, but when a cop shows up and sees a dog, he’s opening fire like a gang of thugs from a Quentin Tarantino movie. As a dog owner, unless we’re talking pure mayhem going on at my house, I’m never calling a cop.

The rottweiler being shot is nothing new. It happened a couple of times last week, it’ll happen a couple of times next week, and it’ll keep on happening.
