By the Banana Republicans I mean the ones who are still supporting Trump’s claim that the election was a fraud. But they are doing real damage by not allowing Biden to get started on the transition. For example, the whole Warp Speed is being kept secret from him, even though it will be his job to administer the vaccination. The morning briefing (which Trump doesn’t read anyway) should be in his hands and is not. Vetting of potential appointees has been denied him. Access to government offices is denied. And all this is aided and abetted by the overwhelming majority of Republicans who evidently think their cult leader is more important than the well-being of the American people. Biden needs to hit the ground running and the Trumpists won’t allow him to.
They’ve been doing this for the last five years(longer, actually). Why stop now?
