The beach road is flooding

The tide is unusually high today, and the weather is reported to have sustained winds of 40 mph with gusts to 60 or 65. I ran down to the corner market, and it was fortunate I drove the Jeep. Waves were crashing in, and in several places the road was awash with water, rocks up to fist-size, driftwood and small logs, sand, and vegetable matter. The normally placid bay quite a sight! Too bad I have to work, instead of being able to go down to the sea wall to watch the show. (If only my Wi-Fi could sent its signal 150 yards!)

This thread is useless without pics!

Sounds like the wind has died down. (It was supposed to today.) Too bad, because the waves are cool. I might be able to get a pic or two on my lunch break, but I won’t be able to post it/them until tonight.

By the time I got back to the beach the sun was out, the wind died down, and the tide was ebbing. The sweepers had gone through and the debris had been cleared from the road. So no point in pics.

Alright. I’ll just take your word for it then. But I would have loved to have seen it.

Cheer up Johnny. When it rains and blows this hard in the Northwest, it reminds me of Spring.

Soon the rain will be warmer, and we will dream of Summer BBQ’s under tarps. The sun will break in late February and we will all go outside to mow the moss, I mean lawn.

Try to stay focused on those 8 weeks in late Summer, called the dry season, when everyone tries to cram an entire year’s worth of outdoor activities into 2 weeks vacation. This is known as the Emergency Room season.

Daffodils are coming up. There is 2 inches of water on the lawn. Spring is almost here.

Oh, I wasn’t complaining! I live at the crest of a hill, so I don’t have to worry about flooding!

Wait; you mean it is raining somewhere other than Los Angeles?

Of course! But it’s not news up here.

(I do miss being able to ride my motorcycle most of the year. But I don’t miss the heat!)
