That was the joke. You never see how big it is at first so you think it’s just a little table.
I admit I was laughing when the number of people below that table kept growing. I wonder who was left at the wedding not under the table.
Haha! I noticed that too. Kind of surreal, and it seemed to get taller too. Pretty funny scene though, and I think the young lady felt well supported. Pretty cool to see Josh Hartnett and Brie Larson added to the cast. Bob Odenkirk, Jamie Lee Curtis—everyone was awesome.
Another thing about this episode was it was called “The Wedding,” but they never show the actual wedding, only the peripheral things the guests may be more likey to remember. Very creative storytelling.
Finished S4. I likely caused my own issues, as I expected something different - a comedy at least. As I’ve said, I’m personally not a fan of the slow, scenery and close-up story-telling. And somewhere along the line I lost interest in Carm and Sydney - never cared for Ritchie or the Faks.
So the show just wasn’t for me. Not sure if I’ll watch S5 whenever it comes - if we have Hulu at that point. Sorry - don’t mean to yuck anyone’s yum.
The thing that kills me about this show is that the episodes are thirty(ish) fucking minutes. And 10 episodes.
Fucking get somewhere already! Season 2 was the season where I felt the most connected to the show, because shit happened, people made progress.
This season was certainly better than season three, but just barely. They need to have 20 more episodes on tap and let them loose, because at one or two months (elapsed time of a season) per year, these folks are gonna age like nobody’s business.
I’m watching the final episode of season four right now, about 10 minutes in, and I’m like… “Just shut the fuck up and say something already!”
Ugh.
ETA: 20 minutes in, and I think I know what is going on here. The writers are jerking off. They think they’ve created a tour de force. Like, this is somehow really great writing because they’re just giving us raw conversation between the main characters, no frills. But actually, it’s fucking terrible. You know, it’s the opposite of “show, don’t tell” but worse. It’s “Tell, don’t show, but also don’t tell anything either. Just blather.”
Do not care for it. I have a feeling I’m going to walk away convinced this is the worst episode of the season, possibly the whole series.
I enjoyed the under the table episode, also known as the Wedding, though no actual wedding ceremony was shown.
FInished it less than 2 months ago and am kinda surprised how little I remember of it. Suggests that - at least for me - it was far from “great” TV.
