The Beatles lied

They also claimed to “All live in a Yellow Submarine”.

I think it was “artistic license”.

Or if you prefer Mr Zevon to Mr. Costello

Of course they lied. Paul’s still alive.

That actually made me laugh out loud

I sort of agree, but I personally dislike the word “tough” in this context. It sort of implies fighting against something, like you’re trying to keep the bad stuff from getting in. I prefer “strength”, which implies an inner fortitude, and something that can radiate outwards. And yes, when you have strength, everything else, including love, is suddenly available to you.

I geek out on this stuff way too much. Yeesh.

It’s one of your most endearing qualities.

The Beatles did not lie. Everything I have ever accomplished worth anything had to do with love. Some people do, indeed, suck, but that’s usually because they didn’t get the love they needed at some point in time. I don’t deny the importance of strength but when you’re surrounded by negativity, love is strength, dammit.

Thanks. I love that I can talk to you about this stuff.

Can love be another word for passion? Poise, passion, presence, purpose, and persistence. It seems to me like those are pretty much all of the pieces of the puzzle.

“Love is at a relatively high position on Maslow’s hierarchy” just doesn’t rhyme well.
