The best last line of a movie

[quote]
The End
?[\quote]

From The Blob, of course

And as “Nobody’s perfect” (Some Like It Hot) cannot possibly be topped, I don’t think I’ll play.

Actually, the last line was Foster saying into the phone “Dr. Lechter? Dr. Lechter?”

“madness…MADNESS!”

-Bridge on the River Kwai

“Less is More” - Mies
“More or Less” - Venturi

Was it “It’s a COOKBOOK!!!” ?

Uke

From “The Usual Suspects”

(Kevin Spacey blows hard across his open palm, as though blowing dust off it.)

“He’s gone.”

Then THE BIG CHORD.

“We are here for this – to make mistakes and to correct ourselves, to withstand the blows and to hand them out.” Primo Levi

Wow, a quad post. Something was hanging on either my system or the SDMB and it wouldn’t let me submit my reply… <pause for dramatic buildup>… OR SO I THOUGHT!

Re. The Day the Earth Stood Still: The movie was based on the short story “Farewell to the Master” by Harry Bates. The celebrated twist, not used in the movie, is that Gort the robot is actually Klaatu’s master and not vice versa.

The “It’s a cookbook!” moment is the zinger from the Twilight Zone episode “To Serve Man.”

“That’ll do, Pig. That’ll do…”, Babe

“It’s only common sense,
There are no accidents 'round here.”

Captain! It is I, Ensign Pulver!

And I just threw your stinking palm tree overboard.

Now what’s this crud about no movies tonight?

(Fonda, Cagney, Powell, Lemmon & Ford [until he slugged Fonda] in Mister Roberts.)

Brody : I use to hate the water.
Hooper: I can’t imagine why.

Jaws

Of course, that’s how American Beauty ends. I really dug this line, as I wrote it in my book like 6 months before the movie came out. I think it is a coincidence, and it’s not published (yet) anyway, so I think I will just chalk it up to great minds think alike and forget about it.

Couple more good ones…

From The Apartment:

Jack Lemmon: “Did you hear me? I said I adore you.”
Shirley Maclaine: “Shut-up and deal.”

And from The Insider:

“What got broken here… doesn’t go back together.”

Liv

“Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads” Back to the Future

“All right, put that away, sonny” Monty Python and the Holy Grail

GREAT category! Here’s two, and I can’t for the life of me think of two completely opposite movies…

“Or maybe it was Utah…” Raising Arizona

“He would be in Jem’s room all night, and he would be there when Jem waked up in the morning.” To Kill a Mockingbird

I ask not what you can do for me, but what you can do for me right now.

Another one of my all-time favorites:

“Don’t lose your head.”
