I’d support her 100% in anything she wants to do. But I probably wouldn’t vote for her.

If she were an adult, and I was running on a platform that was against her personal political philosophy, I wouldn’t expect her to go out on the stump for me, and I wouldn’t expect her to vote for me. I would expect her to support me personally and behind-the-scenes. I would do the same for her.

My parents (and my father in particular) would probably campaign against me, but considering their particular views, I don’t consider that too bad.

When you write it like that , I imagine that it is pretty blatant but at the time I believe that it was a pretty common surname for latin americans.
