I loved loved LOVED this episode! My only complaint is I wish they had given Dale more screen time. I instantly fell in love with his character.

Between Sheldon breaking out the relationship contract and Amy asking for shirts vs skins “I call shirts!”, this was an all around great episode for me.

This was a great episode IMHO. Funny tension between Amy and Sheldon regarding the nature of their relationship and how it needed to change. Good portrayal of the “ooo, look, new cards” geekiness reaction in the other guys.

I am starting to wonder about Penny’s drinking - it was made pretty obvious in this episode, so I wonder if it’ll be a theme of a future episode.

This ep just cemented the fact that Stuart is one of my favorite characters on the show.

If I ever see Jim Parsons in a cowboy hat and boots, I will not be held responsible for my actions.

The “Shamy” story just gets better and better.

Stuart is becoming another breakout character of the show. When it ends, Kevin Sussman deserves his own series.

This episode also cements that AFF is more than “bi-curious.”

And yeah, now Penny has a drinking problem. I hope they can handle it in a funny manner and not go all “After School Special” on us.

I like the Stuart character, as well! He’s very funny!

What a cute interview! Love Bernadette even more.

I enjoyed the episode but I don’t share the Stuart love. I liked him better when he wasn’t pathetic.

I like him better this way. At first, it seemed that he was superior and condescending to the guys, which was a little dissonant since a) geeks are his bread-and-butter and b) they are top-tier, sexy geeks. (Well, except for Howard, who at least has a better situation than the proprietorship a struggling Nerd Supplies store.)

The misplaced superiority had the barest whiff of Simpsons Did It.

What was it he said after selling them the cards “like shooting nerds in a barrel” or something? That seemed awfully condescending. I liked him better at first, too. He was an artist and business owner, some of his customers were physicists. The geeks that I know don’t have to share the same interest, they just have to have some interest that they pursue with intensity.

I thought it was an OK episode. They are making Stuart a little too pathetic now (didn’t he originally approach and date Penny a while ago?), but he is a very funny actor.

In general, I’ve started watching early seasons of Big Bang Theory in syndication and those episodes are much better, I find. I don’t know if it’s due to

[li]The writers have run out of good storylines[/li][li]The dynamic of the early set of characters was better than the current set of characters[/li][li]The new characters they added (Amy and Bernadette) aren’t as funny as the characters the show started with[/li][li]The larger number of total characters makes it harder to give them all enough screen time per episode to make their storyline for that episode work/be funny.[/li][/LIST]
I think (d) is a real issue, and perhaps © as well (I’m not as fond of Amy as many Dopers seem to be)

Also, scenes where Penny is hanging out with Amy and Bernadette totally take me out of the story because they are so unrealistic: She is so different from them that she would never hang out with them as friends. Scenes with the guys are a bit different because I don’t think she hangs out with them as friends, she is just usually over for pizza or something.

Well, c is obviously wrong.

D has possibilities, as does a.

Slightly off-topic, but I was watching a rerun last night from 2007 or so. It was the episode with the Physics Bee, and while they were trying to think of who to include on the team after Sheldon was thrown off, they specifically mentioned “the girl from Blossom that got a PhD.”

Another great episode. I think this show just gets better and better. The Sheldon-Amy dynamic is a goldmine of material, and I adore Bernadette.

“Hope you enjoyed the pre-natal cigarettes, mom.”

In neurobiology.

I think the episode started funny then ended in a whimper.

I felt really bad for Stuart, he deserved better than that treatment; and I think the ending with AFF blindly accepting the agreement without getting anything she actually wants (in terms of sex) but getting the title “girlfriend” was actually kind of out of character for her. I feel she is smart enough to interact with Sheldon, but socially smart enough to know to read the agreement in advance.
