The Big Bang Theory, May 15, 2014 -- "The Status Quo Combustion"

Penny is not rushing to move in with Leonard. If she does, by the time Sheldon gets back the engagement will be off. They’ll never get married, or if they do the show will suck really bad at that point. My hope is they will re-work whatever they were planning over the summer.

I didn’t get a romantic vibe between Stuart and Howard’s mom, but fercryinoutloud, they just met!!
Give it time…

the shows got three more seasons. they’ve run out of the obvious funny for the situation.

the show could go any direction.

they’ll do and undo stuff if needed. they now have ghosts just like Topper

Has there ever any speculation what Mrs Wolowitz’s first name was?

I know there is a been a lot of discussion of Penny’s last name. (My favorite is her middle name begins with R and last name is Cade).

“Not pregnant, yes that is a first for our family”

Was also an excellent line.

I thought it was a really good episode. Including the mention of how mad Leonard’s mother would be if he let anything happen to Sheldon.

Penny’s last name is Heisenberg. She’s the one who gets knocked up.

The scene at the very end with Amy and the pillow I did not expect. Especially how long it went on.

That was my take on the situation, as well.

I took it as a joke about how Stuart’s situation before becoming a caregiver was so damn bleak. (financially strapped, always having to bicker with customers, living in the back room, showering in the car wash etc.)

The new situation is a job that everyone loathes but to him it has better living conditions, less financial risk, more self esteem and a connection with somebody who appreciates him.

No, the best line in the entire show was when Raj asked what part of the US Kripke’s accent is from.

Also, the only reason Sheldon has Leonard as a roommate is because he can’t afford the rent by himself. Of course, Sheldon also doesn’t deposit his paychecks either…

Sheldon also needs a chauffeur. What, you don’t expect him to put on his bus pants every day just to go to work and the train store, do you?

One thing I couldn’t believe is that they would let Sheldon go without demanding he say good-bye to Amy first. She was not even an afterthought in the whole thing.

Sheldon has a lot of money, right? Maybe he could leave the University, study whatever he wants independently (maybe he finds a benefactor), and maybe even teams up with Stuart to open a new comic book store.

He’s not that wealthy*, he needs the university resources, and he’d never leave academia until after he wins the Nobel Prize.

The line that is going to be repeated around our place for a few years:

“Howie, I love you. And as your wife, your mother is every bit my problem as she is yours. So… I want a divorce.”

    • He doesn’t spend much of his salary, but his salary isn’t that great.

that was one of the best moments.

the show keeps current time. so it should be about three months along when it returns. sheldon does have quite a bit of vacation time cached away, he maybe able to just ride the rails for 3 months.

i had a coworker who would just ride public transport for hours when he wasn’t at work. for vacations he would ride amtrack up and down the east coast. he wouldn’t get off train, just ride up and back.

Relax. It’s just wild-assed speculation on our part. It started when I posted this:

Oh, in that last scene in Casa Wolowitz where Bernadette is wearing an orange dress and is sitting on the couch next to Howard, doesn’t she seem a bit more buxom than usual?

no cardigan.

Sheldon is on sabbatical.

Non-tenured research faculty don’t get sabbaticals. He’s either burning vacation time, or he’s quit his job.
