I am starting this thread in anticipation of tonight’s episode.
The Big Bang Theory, Season 8, Episode 15 (February 19, 2015) -- "The Comic Book Store Regeneration"
They had such a promising reset going, with Sheldon taking off and Stuart losing the shop and moving in with Howard’s mom … and it all just never happened. Back in the same old rut with all of them.
she is likely in a deep rut.
and probably a double wide.
tonight is the night. should be interesting.
Surprisingly touching and handled well.
Uh oh—what are y’all talking about? It doesn’t air here for another three hours. Is tonight the “Very Special Episode?” Is Mrs. Walowitz being cast back into the ocean?
I watched, after taking most of a season off. Not bad. Big point to me was the characters not being jerks to each other, for the most part.
I might give it a shot next week too.
I thought it was well done.
I thought he was going to say “Let it go.” too.
I thought it was well done, though the minute Howard’s cell phone rang I told my wife that Mrs. W. was dead. I mean, who else would be calling- all his friends were there? I thought it was nice that they didn’t do the standard Very Special Episode schtick, a few moments of memories and reflections was probably nice for the cast as well, they lost a friend too.
The Penny v monkey tests were pretty cool, and the fact that Leonard was stumped by the banana puzzle was a nice touch.
As soon as Howard mentioned his mother was in Florida, I knew they were going to have her die, and when his phone rang, that’s all it could be. I’m glad it didn’t get all sappy - I think the story was well done.
I didn’t much like Howard’s tantrum about the furniture - here’s hoping that with his mother dead, he’ll grow up. His character has become increasingly tiresome and his marriage is harder and harder to believe. And I hope Stuart will be allowed to be less pathetic.
I giggled at the Penny/monkey tests, too.
In an ideal world, Bernadette would convince Howard to let Stuart keep living in Debbie’s house, eventually buying it when the comic book store takes off.
“Pull your pants up!” Penny always had had Sheldon’s number. The look on Amy’s face right then was priceless.
I thought that this episode was a very touching tribute to Mrs. Wolowitz. I enjoyed the fallout from Sheldon and Amy’s experiments, and the rivalry between Howard and Stuart, as well.
I wish they had used Nathan Fillion better. That scene didn’t fit with the flow of episode at all.
Maybe he’ll come back later in the Spring to do the signing at the comic book store they talked about.
My wife was wondering why Leonard and Raj were going so crazy over the guy from Castle. After all, that’s not a geek show.
And yet, you stay married to her. You’re a better man than I!
Actually she’s quite geeky herself–she goes to Gen Con in costume, for heaven’s sake! She just never got into any of the Joss Whedon stuff.
I thought the part about how Amy can solve “THIS” puzzle was Penny’s funniest line ever.
