The return of Evil Wil Wheaton and a guest appearance by Brent Spiner!!
Will Sheldon get another addition to his restraining order collection?
Not bad. Wil’s place looks like some place I’d like to hang out.
This was better. There were some genuine laugh-out-loud moments. But I saw the conflict between Howard and Bernadette coming a mile away, and basically said out loud “shut the hell up your boyfriend has a chance to do something spectacular for his career and you’re pulling the ‘I’m too emotional to support you’ card and SHUT UP.”
The ongoing Schroedinger’s interactions between Sheldon and Leonard were pretty good.
Amy seems to be less Asperger-ish than the past episodes, and I’m not sure it’s consistent for her character.
Yup.
She’s actively trying to change and be more social. I can see that her behaviour would fluctuate.
Plus, it’s a sitcom. Characters bend to fit whatever is the funniest joke.
AFF is definitely bi-curious. They need to end the season with her, Penny and Bernadette in a hawt 3-way.
I was very surprised that Sheldon hugged Wil, and that Wil allowed it. Although the emotion of the moment probably overwhelmed both of them. It really was a nice gesture on Formerly Evil Wil’s part.
Sheldon pulling out the floppy and computer part was a laugh-until-you-pee-your-pants moment. So in character.
Spiner, for all of his two minutes on screen time, had the best line: Remember how we used to pose these things so they looked like they were masturbating?
“$20.”
AFF is keeps referring to Penny’s boobs. girl three way for sure after Bernadette and Howard have troubles and the three girls have girl time with wine.
5 1/4 inch floppy was out of character for Sheldon both for no anal backup and no additions to the list since then. though still funny.
Sheldon has added plenty of people to the list over time. That’s why he had the 5.25 drive handy. The disk finally just gave up the ghost (in the machine). Sheldon loves old computer stuff. He about wet himself when his mother sent him his old Nintendo 64 and all his games.
The lack of backup is out of character. But it was still funny as hell.
And it was a Verbatim disk yet. That brand name brought back some nerdy memories.
Good episode. My only disappointments:
In his past appearance(s? was there more than one, I don’t remember now), WW was not really himself but a rather a douchey version of himself. Here he seemed to just be himself and a nice guy. I was waiting for the douchiness that never came. Also FYI according to WW’s Twitter feed, some of the background stuff in his “house” on BBT, came from his real house.
I was expecting it to be revealed to Leonard that WW was the catalyst for his break up with Penny (I don’t think he is aware of that but I could be wrong). So the end result is Sheldon would now like him but Leonard would hate him but that didn’t happen.
Especially the “Wesley Crusher on black velvet” painting. That’s from Wil’s study.
You’ve got to be kidding.
Spiner also had the best action of the episode: When he opened the doll’s container, I flipped. That would kill a collector.
Nope. It was a gift from a friend.
Annie - that freaked me out too. Spiner would know better. So that must have been Evil Brent Spiner we saw, not the real one.
What’s the big deal? He’s got a whole trunk full of still-in-the-box action figures! He can hand you a replacement on the spot; the first one is free…
I’m not at all surprised that such a thing exists. In the documentary Trekkies (or possibly the sequel), one of the actors from the show showed several examples of fan-created art that had been sent as gifts. (BTW, the documentaries are interesting and worth watching.)

I’m not surprised the painting existed (outside the confines of the BBT episode) - I’m surprised RL Wil Wheaton had it up in his study. Even ironically.

Was it this one It Has Been Revealed | Whatever ? Note Wheaton’s response in the comments.
