Amy feels threatened when Sheldon hires a young female assistant. Meanwhile, the pressure of being in space takes its toll on Wolowitz.
According to radio spots for this episode, there will be readings from Sheldon’s childhood diaries. Considering the glimpses of his childhood that have been shown, it should be “a hoot and a half.”
“Pardon the bad handwriting. I didn’t learn to type until I was six.”
There were some great Wolowitz moments in the episode.
Amy was hilarious with her jealousy towards Sheldon’s smart-and-sexy
assistant, who, of course, Sheldon has zero interest in, except for her willingness to do his drudge-work. I hope this isn’t going to be a one-off thing – I wouldn’t mind her staying for a few episodes. Maybe Raj can have a sip of alcohol so he can actually converse with her!
I’m glad to see Leonard and Penny back on track (or at least, not as off-track as they were last week).
Howard is seriously beginning to bug me now. Get him back to earth already!
Anyone know if they’re filming Howard’s scenes in the “Vomit Comet,” or if the zero-gravity stuff is just SFX?

The Big Bang Theory 9-27-12: The Date Night Variable
AS a really funny 30 min in my life, this one lived up to all expectations, and then some. Sheldon’s early life would make a new show in itself, and yes the need to get the sandwich made and bring the lemon home.
the dialogue mentions a week to 10 days. so maybe the next or subsequent episode.
it is in character for him to be boastful upfront and yet a whiny complaining under performer in fact. these space episodes have made him a bigger part of the story.
‘they had to give me a shot’ was kinda funny.
Can anyone verify this inconsistency I thought I saw:
When the assistant brings the sundae? to Sheldon with a cherry on the bottom and one on top, he grills her about whether the stems have been removed and she isn’t sure about the bottom one. Then he starts choking and I could swear he said cherry pit. But then when Leonard is repeating the story to Penny, he says it was a cherry stem that hit Raj in the eye.
No, Sheldon said “stem” when he was choking (just watched it again). I remember, though, 'cause I was kind of surprised he actually ate the sundae instead of making her take it back and do it again. Not a bad bit of misdirection, though, since it was a couple of minutes (and punchlines) between the conversation and the choking.
Has that ever happened in real life? Do they keep heavy-duty benzos on board the ISS in case somebody goes cabin-crazy and tries to force open the airlock?

‘Howard! Put your pants back on, NASA’s watching.’
Is one of the guys in space with Howard still being played by an authentic ex-astronaut? I know he was in the episode last season where Howard went into space, but don’t know if he continued in the role.
I’m betting dollars to donuts that she’s gonna be a love interest for Raj.
That line I laughed at
But when Penny said “I’m just a big blonde monkey to you, aren’t I?” she looked so…old and worn. It was just a flash, but it was not pretty. Kaley might not age well.
He’s been in a couple episodes this season. I seem to recall one where Howard is trying to tell Bernadette that he is getting along well with the other astronauts and the authentic one tells ‘Froot Loops’ that it’s time to clean the toilet (which Howard designed) or something.
It was good to see Penny reveal some feelings for Leonard. She’s been in denial too long. She may have aged a little, but she’s still pretty hot. I don’t remember anyone else filling out a Wonder Woman outfit quite so well.
The Howard space schtick has run it’s course. Time to get him back to Earth.
Amy’s character has developed nicely. Looks like they’re downplaying her latent lust for Penny. Still, I’d like her and Penny and Bernadette to have a slumber party and a pillow fight in their underwear.
