I’m starting this thread in anticipation of tonight’s episode.
Funny episode, but Howard really owes Sheldon an ass kicking. So does Leonard, for similar reasons. I’m thinking a Full Metal Jacket-style blanket party. Maybe invite Raj, Stuart, Kripke, and Penny’s Ex—the dumb one that dressed as Superman for the Halloween party----to hold the blanket down, while Howard and Leonard dispense “motivation” as deserved.
On another note, Amy is looking progressively less nerdy. Still dressing a little retro, but much improved from her debut.
The writers need to find a way to throw us some eye candy more often. They’ve got three hot gals. Surely they can find a reason to have them showing skin more often…
I was fully prepared for Amy to tell Sheldon that no, they aren’t a couple any more. Honestly, how low does your self-esteem have to be to put up with his behavior, which was worse in this episode than I remember in a long time.
I think he needs another visit from his mother, she’s the only one who seems to be able to get through to him.
Roddy
I’m not usually one to get upset by an inconsistent characterisation in a sitcom, I think the jokes are paramount and trump canon and continuity, but it seemed incredibly unlike Sheldon to have a BM in a restaurant. Surely he’d have 1 BM per day, at a strictly regular time, and always at his home.
I also am surprised he took a bus trip alone, but maybe it’s been established that he’s done that before.
And we need more male skin as well.
Best scene in this ep; Sheldon and the monkey. I didn’t get it until the last one, so had to replay a few times. That was genius.
Only 18 minutes out of 30. Down from 20. I don’t even see the commercials and they’re still ruining shows.
That was pretty minor. It was the bit at the end that I thought was out of character. Sheldon has shown before that he is aware of his social shortcomings. I knew they were going for the laugh when he described those traits and then said he was talking about Amy, but it didn’t work with how he has acted in the past.
I think he’s okay riding the bus alone, but he’s lucky he had his bus pants at work. He probably keeps a pair there, and at home. And maybe at the comic book store.
He doesn’t seem the sort to fall asleep on the bus, though.
You know, Mayim Bialik is actually quite attractive. They should milk this fact for laughs by having Amy get a makeover and a new wardrobe at the hands of Bernadette and Penny and suddenly discovering that she has absolutely no problems whatsoever attracting men. This will drive poor Sheldon to the point of Pon Far, and all manner of hilarity will ensue.
I’d actually like Amy to tell Sheldon that she’s done with him, as he is such an insensitive boob.
Amy is a fine young lady, who would love a relationship. Yes, I understand that the interactions between them create some tensions on the show; but honestly, Sheldon, open your @#$%^& eyes and see what Amy is offering you.
I agree. We need to see Sheldon’s Mom give him some insight as to what the real story is.
(Heck, if an Amy came into my life, I wouldn’t complain.)
Sheldon is a miserable self-centered ass.
I think you’re off by one hot gal, but I agree with the point. They missed a chance when Leonard and Penny were cuddling on the couch under that blanket. She could have suddenly got up, forgetting that she had taken her pants off…
Sheldon was a jerk to the point where it was painful to watch. Howard’s trauma was more fun as he was like in quicksand and the more he struggled the deeper he got into it. But there is a line to rudeness that becomes uncomfortable and Sheldon walked way past it.
Who is number four? Raj?
Especially after what happened the last time.
But yeah, Sheldon really does need to get his metaphorical ass kicked. His mother could do it, but having Amy dump him works better. Then he could call on his mother for help.
I’d be happy to see more of Leslie Winkle, if that’s who he means.
Actually, I meant that there were 2 hot gals, not 3. I like Amy and think she has a pleasant face, but she isn’t in Penny’s league at all. Penny in lingerie= great promo ad. Amy in lingerie, not so much.
AFF is on the 5 year plan. being a scientist she knows of the ups and downs and progress in small steps. though poo flinging monkeys may be easier to deal with than Sheldon.
I’m one of those people who seldom laughs out loud at anything.
But I almost peed myself laughing at the scene with Sheldon and the monkey.
I was surprised that Bernadette took Sheldon’s ramblings so literally. She knows he’s an idiot. A very smart idiot, but still an idiot.
I wonder if those two scenes could be indicative of anything to come. There was that episode where Sheldon went all operant conditioning on Penny; maybe AFF could start training him in the same way. When he does something bad, move the couch a fraction of an inch. When he does something good, give him a train.
But a very literal idiot.
