Greenscreen used to be bluescreen. There’s a knob on the video switcher you can turn to change the background color to be rendered transparent in chromakey. I think the change from blue to green had a LOT to do with the growing popularity of blue shirts being worn by tv weathermen.

From what I’ve read, green became more popular because cameras have the highest sensitivity to it.

the reason green became more popular is because fewer people wear green clothes, except for Patty’s. when it was blue people’s tops and ties were showing background.
