only funny line in the show.
Well, I’ll have to pay attention next time that episode gets rerun. Did the psychic say she’d get an acting job, or just a job? If the latter, then it’s nice foreshadowing. Or maybe they’ll have her be a success as a drug rep, and then tempt her to leave it for a good acting job.
Or it could be writerly amnesia. As I said in the other thread, they’ve used the Fig Newton factoid before. (That was pretty common knowledge where I used to live.)
Count me among the TV watchers my friend silenus has described in category 2.
Yeah, pretty damn bad.
I agree. He made Newsradio, IMHO.

Big Bang Theory’ Premiere: Penny’s New Haircut Fails to Impress
This scene was several seasons ago and it says she will get a national commercial if she cuts her hair. Which I believe was before she was “sitting pretty” (hemorrhoid commercial).
In this scene from late last season, the Psychic doesn’t say anything about Penny’s hair.
I realize it’s catty and spurious to go on and on about an actress’s unattractive haircut, but the picture of her wearing that pantsuit in the linked article makes her look like a homosexual Englishman with poor fashion sense who has just received some moderately depressing news. Like he just found out his new crush has entered into a monogomous relationship with a semi-pro cricketer or something.
Wow! That’s… specific.
I’m a bit of a people watcher, and sometimes I like to make up little stories I think would fit with their lives. It’s usually more interesting than the truth, which is typically either boring or terrible.
I might come across as mean but I sympathize with Cuoco. I miss my long beautiful hair too. And growing it out is such a bitch, you go through all these untamable phases.
That is my favorite past-time when I am eating lunch in the park. It’s amazing how many spies and murderers live in my town. ![]()
Penny’s new hair do makes her more smoking hot that ever before. For the past two seasons I’ve been thinking she needs to stop acting like she’s still 18. The new hair does that. She looks like a hot adult woman now, rather than adult trying to hold onto her teen years.
The rest of the epsisode - meh. Sheldon is still annoying and Amy has taken over the pathetic role from Stuart.
I saw a pic of Kaley’s hair a few days before the show returned, and was surprised and also thought, in that particular pic, she didn’t look so great. But in the show she looks fine, and I quite like it.
I don’t know what’s going on with Penny and her hair. She had pretty nice hairdos most of the time in the early seasons. But then Penny was wearing her hair in really odd ways. A big lump on the top or two “mouse ears”, etc. Maybe the short hair is Cuoco’s way to stop the bad hairdos. How can you mess up short hair any more than it’s already messed up?
Stephen Root is great. But they barely used his acting abilities. Pity.
Even Sheldon would know better how to get help in a train station while not wearing pants. He certainly wouldn’t talk to other passengers. He’d go straight for employees.
There is a type of trite, stale “joke” I call “The man in the green hat joke.” Someone (picture Ricky Gervais) says: “You know what I hate, men who wear green hats.” And of course just as he says this a man with green hat happens by.
Terrible attempt at humor. You see it coming a light year away. So when Penny mentioned the insulin pump … grooooan.
Why does Bernadette care if Penny wears yoga pants? Can’t be jealous of how she looks in them? BTW, in real life Cuoco is a yoga addict. Maybe a slam at Cuoco? Could we expect more of this due to the contract negotiations?
Cuoco cut her hair for a movie role.
Do you think the writers are trying to piss off the stars of the show?
She looks like Justin Bieber.
You do realize that Melissa Rauch doesn’t write her own lines. Also, I don’t think the writers were in on the actor’s contract negotiations. I could be wrong.
Here’s how I heard it:
“Does it cause rectal bleeding?”
“Our lawyers say lots of things can make a rectum bleed.”
I like Penny’s hair, but I like short hair on women.
I liked the show overall. Still, in every episode, there is at least one point at which I LOL.
But it has the same weaknesses - Sheldon is not socially clueless, but an active asshole. That’s funny only to a lmiited extent, especially with Bernadette being a bitch.
Seven seasons, and still going strong. That’s at least a recent record.

Shodan
Almost the exact same point I use on my wife. She claims to be offended by a show which makes fun of very smart people…but I like to watch it, and when she happens to join me, there is always…always…one thing that makes her LOL. Believe me, in her life, very few things make her LOL. Not her personality at all. So, I call it her dose of laugh medicine for the week.
