I am starting this thread in anticipation of tonight’s episode.
I thought it was pretty good. I liked Sheldon and Amy, I liked Raj standing up to Howard, and I liked the possibility that Raj may have a solid relationship now that he’s shed himself of Howard. I mean, they’ll reconcile, probably when the baby is born, but I’m happy they finally did something besides point at Raj and say “What a shmo!”
Melissa Rauch must be on maternity leave now, and they are using previously recorded footage of her as Facetime footage. Her hair looked like it did at the beginning of the season, not like it did last week.
Why is Penny such a frump? She left the house without combing her hair and in the sweater the dog likes to lay on.
I liked Raj’s curly hair and confident attitude.
Didn’t Howard go through this with Sheldon? He stopped messing with Sheldon even though Sheldon deserved it most of the time.
I think in the show’s dynamic it’s a result of being married, and specifically being married to Leonard. Why bother, especially when her spouse is letting himself go?
But have all the eps this season been on the weekend, because she never seems to go to work anymore. When they were having Raj spy on Ruchi to see if she was after Bernadette’s projects, no one mentioned Penny (who works at the same place) asking around. Heck, I don’t think they ever acknowledged Penny knew who Ruchi was, or where she worked.
Still, it seems like once in a while she could wear something a little racier for her husband, not to mention us viewers.
So does Raj no longer work at the university or is this just a part-time gig for him?
The Amy-Sheldon wedding planning was pretty good. It was good how they managed to avoid having this evolve into a major fight and breakup and resolved it all in one episode.
I liked this one so much better than last week. Raj is showing real growth and Amy and Sheldon are learning to work together.
I’m all for that!
Seriously, this was a fun episode. Enjoyed watching Raj stand up for himself. About time!
I liked this episode a lot, too. Breaking Raj out of his whiny mode is refreshing.
Is Kunal Nayar’s hair naturally curly and that’s how we’re going to see it for the rest of the series? If so, it will symbolize Raj’s shift from Howard’s follower to independent, confident Raj.
Hopefully the girl who invited Raj out isn’t gone by next week, like all the rest of them.
The preview for next week shows Howard and Raj getting into a bit of an altercation, or maybe just a slap fight. I’m looking forward to that.
Everywhere I’ve seen Nayar outside of the show, his hair has been curly, so that seems like it’s natural state. I think in the early seasons he went natural, once when Raj was picked as one of People’s 30 Under 30. That’s why I was a little surprised at his lousy choices for the interview in the opening - previously Raj has shown a bit of fashion sense when it’s called for, which is consistent with his character’s metrosexual tendences.
Penny is in sales, Ruchi and Bernadette are researchers, and it’s presumably a multi-national company. If Penny and Bernadette hadn’t met at while waitressing, they probably wouldn’t have met at work (assuming Penny could have landed her job without help, which is of course unlikely). Penny would certainly have very little chance to figure out the politics in the lab at any rate.
Penny knows enough of the same people at work to let the news of Bernie’s first pregnancy out of the bag and to spy on the other co-worker trying to steal Bernie’s job.
I know we’ve discussed how Jim Parsons is getting a bit more beefy lately, but Mayim Bialik is keeping up with him. Now they really need that bigger bed.
I love watching Sheldon turn into a “real live boy” this season. Parson’s doing a great job of showing Sheldon’s growth.
Raj was non-annoying for the first time in however many seasons. I hope this change sticks. I’d like to see next season (which is the last one, right?) deal with mostly healthy people.
That said, I cannot stand how they’ve been playing Bernadette. She’s downright abusive as hell. She should be sarcastic, tough and strong, but not the crazy-assed bitch she’s become.
