Earlier today, the moderator DavidB proclaimed that I’m the “biggest asshole around here”. I’m unsure as to whether he was speaking as a member, as part of the administration, or both.
I don’t think that he is correct. Krispy Original is hardly even in the top ten of assholes around here, and is considerably less caustic than the controversial moderator himself.
Once again, DavidB (the member) is wrong.

I agree that you’re not nearly the top asshole around (well, you do have tenure, I guess). But you can probably make it into the top ten on a good day (I know I can).

I’ve stayed out of several of the anti-DavidB threads. I don’t go looking for fights with him. He does look to start fights with me though as evidenced in the TROLLPUPPET thread here in the PIT where he pops in to insult me, trolling for a response out of me.

Folks, go read it yourself. In the TROLLPUPPET thread, recently banned peligro! was asking why he might have gotten banned. He had previously posted long posts critical of the administration of the SDMB. I wrote a brief response to him, telling him that criticism of the message board or mods can be grounds for bannishment. That all I said.
DavidB in his paranoia and his hatred of me chose to come out the woodwork to insult me.
Now, he tries to rationalize his jerkish behavior by trying to characterize my one-liner to peligro! as a shot against the board instead of the answer to a question and advice to peligro!.

Oh, come on, people. Are you really going to tell me that you took this OP seriously? Are you all that paranoid that you think that KO was being any more than tongue-in-cheek about this? I kinda wish mine had been the first response in this thread, because I’d imagine it would have gone a completely different way. I would have thanked KO for making me laugh, and mentioned a few people who are definitely bigger assholes than he is, and that would have been the end of that. But no, you people have to take everything as a personal affront. Take a deep breath. Relax. Read the OP again, this time trying to see it the way that someone uninvolved might. It’s funny. Trust me.

Okay, so TAFKAC#3 is quicker to sling an insult. Fine, I’m sure he himself would agree with this characterization. Frankly, it’s the only thing I wish TAFKAC#3 would temper.
But everything else - passion for what they believe in, debate, and yes, even getting a bit dirty when doing just those things - makes these two posters VERY similar personalities.
This combined with TAFKAC#3’s obvious dislike for authority, that mixes with DavidB’s obvious enjoyment of his, makes for a caustic mix.
For the record, I think both posters can be assholes. And I also am glad both are here. I have learned much from both of them.
Oh, and yes, I am very lucky. I also see the humor here, but I am not naive enough to not see the tension between you two.

I’m very sorry for being a jerk.
Although it’s no excuse, the “stuff” that’s happened here, although “only on a message board and shouldn’t be real life”, has had some (for lack of a better word) implications
in my life, and I’m having a very tough time right now. Which, again, is no excuse, but is contributing to my not-usually-like-me bitchy attitude. And THAT, folks, is all I’m going to say about THAT.
In any event, at this point, I should probably just keep my stupid mouth shut until I can work through this stuff. C’Ya.
