The "Black Irish" expanded

  • The “black Irish” are those who have black hair AND blue eyes (most Spanish are not blue-eyed). The “black Irish” also have very distinct facial features. They have sharp Celtic facial features rather than what you would see in say the Germanic and other Indo-Europeans.
    • The “brown Irish” are brown-eyed and brown hair (or even black hair – hair not the factor except it be dark).
    • The hair by itself is significant only in the “red Irish” which is only the read-haired and any color eyes, usually light eyes (all from the constant Nordic invasions).
    • Other hair variations come form Nordic and / or other invaders.

I know some folks have a problem with two ideas: (1) very scholarly research shows the origin of the Celtic people before their migrations was in (now called) Bosnia and they were ferocious fighters against the Romans before loosing badly and pushed out and (2) forgeting about religion, one cannot discount the stories of the Irish being a part of the lost tribes of Israel (match the very distinct look of some the black haired and blue-eyed Ashkonozi Jews mostly scattered to German and Russian geographical areas and you see a very striking similarity).

I think you are referring to this column, which is one of Cecil’s: http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a930730.html

Therefore I have moved this thread from Comments on Staff Reports to Comments on Cecil’s Columns.

This makes no sense. The Celts were demonstrably in their traditional homelands (Britain, Ireland, Gaul, Iberia, and Anatolian Galatia) long before Rome became involved in the Balkans.

It also goes completely against the archaeological consensus that the Proto-Celts are represented by the Central European Hallstatt and La Tène cultures.

The British Israelite theory is popular among neo-Nazis, but is laughed at by everybody else.
