The Blacklist is back after Super Bowl and moving to Thursdays.

On right now. Imagine if the insurgents took over Guantanamo. That’s tonight’s bad ass episode.

I like seeing a villain that doesn’t let Reddington’s talkative shtick distract him. This guy just kills. One hostage after another. Should be interesting to see if Red can rise to that level and stop this guy. Red may have to go Rambo in this one. LOL

:stuck_out_tongue: Well, it’s a two-parter. The suspense and action will continue this Thursday. Looks like more of Liz’s back story will get revealed. Whatever it is that links her and Red together.

Red didn’t get his Die Hard moment. I guess at his age Spader couldn’t quite be believable as barefoot and bleeding Bruce Willis. They still managed to give Spader a pretty bad ass stroll through the prison with that Shotgun.

I’ll withhold criticizing. But, right now I’m having trouble believing anybody in that prison is still alive. I won’t spoil the reason why.

What, you don’t think an offshore oil/natural gas well after an exploded boiler and at least two air to ground missiles would be a healthy environment? On a show where Reddington doesn’t even have to breathe regularly if he’s otherwise occupied–like by having large heavy objects across his chest and lower extremities? Where he can just “Hulk Up” and drop the leg on the bad guy most of the time?

Dude is Ultron. I hear there’s a documentary coming out in a couple months that will show how really bad ass he is…

Lizzie’s the fulcrum (or the key to it or whatever) because of course she is…

That prison has security that would embarrass even the worst drunk tanks. Easily breakable lights inside the cell with miles of wire inside. First response is armed guards for some reason and couldn’t you maybe let the teargas work for a couple of minutes before you rush in guns blazing? Why are the cell controls out in the open? Why are the rest of the guard coming from the opposite side of the hallway far away from the controls? Why is the prison surveillance room right next to the cells? Why is there a server with all US secret intelligence in the prison that can’t be remotely locked?

If you ask me they were asking for it.

If she’s the fulcrum her growing ass is the load.

[Insert joke about load and ass]

[Also insert joke about inserting]

“Hey, gimme that shotgun!”

Another episode where they tease a big reveal and deliver nothing. Even worse they hit the giant reset button at the end. Liz’s memories can’t be relied on. OK so that entire episode was a waste of my time?

Things are certainly heating up for Red this season. Seems like everybody is trying to kill him. That agreement he had with Alan Alda’s group is apparently voided.

Finally figured out the cute blonde is Donna from the West Wing. Janel Moloney looks so different with her hair chopped off.

David Strathairn seems to be Alan Alda’s replacement. Playing the mysterious and powerful figure that battles Red.

Any ideas on what Liz found hidden in the bunny? Considering it was placed there 20 plus years ago. I can’t think of any storage device that small except a micro cassette tape. I don’t think that was in the box.

I still think Red really cares about Liz. The way he asked the doctor if continuing the memory probe would hurt her. Just the way he acts around her. They are giving strong signals that he’s either her dad or some other close connection.

But, just like Season 1. We go back and forth with Liz hating Red. Then liking him. Hating him again. Liking him. Now she hates him again. We’ll see how long it takes before she’s back to liking him again.

I’ve got $5 on one episode.

A filler episode this week. Liz is all pissed and pouty again. Red is bemused. Same old story.

A data expert can’t read a 20 year old chip. yeah, that early 90’s tech is so sophisticated.

Red’s interactions with Denisov are quite interesting.

This week survivalist religious cult episode is pretty well done. The woods are so scary. These scenes remind me of movies like The Blair Witch Project and Sleepaway Camp. Poor Ressler gets the crap beaten out of him every episode. They really need to give the poor guy a new job.

I liked this one. Usually I read or something while my husband watches, but this time I got into it.

Creepy church.

Ressler suffers from The Worf Effect.

Well, I really liked this week’s episode. Especially Red and Liz’s interaction at the end.

This reviewer quite deftly explains how Red makes this show work. This week’s episode was really good. The Blacklist at its best.

In the previous thread, somebody mentioned some similarities between The Blacklist and Fringe, and another show I can’t remember now, and since I’ve been watching Fringe on Netflix, I pointed out that Robert Orci was involved with all three shows.

So today, I was watching Fringe , Season 2, Episode 13 … you know Red’s contact at the DMV, the short, balding guy? The same actor was in this episode of Fringe, playing almost the exact same character. The only real difference was that, in this episode, he was a used book seller, not a DMV guy. But otherwise, almost exactly the same.

I’m not sure whether Orci is simply repeating himself, or if he’s just putting all his previous experience into The Blacklist.

I need to watch Fringe. Sounds like a show I’d enjoy. Isn’t it more Sc-Fi or paranormal than The Blacklist?

Tonight’s episode really is just a rehash of Season 1 and 2’s main events. I’m not sure why they felt the need to do this now. Unless maybe they’ve added a bunch of new viewers that need to get caught up.

Seems pretty obvious to me that Judge must be part of the Shadow group that Alan Alda ran. They’re using this opportunity to find out directly from Liz her involvement with Red. Strictly my IMHO. I haven’t read any spoilers.

Anyhow, we get part 2 next week. Hopefully that will center more on Red convincing Tom to help clear Liz. Maybe they’ll go after the Judge too if he is part of that Shadow Group.

LOL The big problem is… Liz has broken a bunch of laws. My gosh, she kidnaps her husband, chains him to a wall, and interrogates him for months. She’s a out of control agent that’s making her own rules. I’m not sure how Tom can clear her.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen a clip show on network tv. Reminded me of the 1990s.

The problem with the show was that it really did highlight just how awful Lizzie is while reminding me that I don’t care at all about Tom. If she goes to jail and he gets shot by the neo-Nazis, I’m more than ok with that.
