The blue-eyed kid in that movie last night was . . .

Elijah Wood in The Good Son.

So I was idly channel-surfing last night, and came to rest on a movie with Macaulay Culkin (yuck) and another kid who seemed vaguely familiar. Too lazy to look up the movie, I watched it for awhile. Darned if the blue-eyed kid wasn’t a good little actor, way better than Culkin. It drove me nuts until I finally picked up the newspaper and saw that he was Elijah Wood, aged about 10. He was a pudgy little guy, and back then his eyes were in proportion to his face. I guess they didn’t know when to stop growing.

Huh. Didn’t know he started acting so young.

…and he’d been in 11 things before that, so you haven’t seen at him his youngest yet. He’s been acting in tv/movies since 1989 http://us.imdb.com/Name?Wood,%20Elijah

Oh yah, he’s been around for a while.
Another movie he did as a kid was North, which I’ve seen twice on television in the past month alone.
Elijah Wood even has a few other credits to his name before those two movies.

(Upon preview, this post is redundant. My apologies.)

One of the first movies Elijah Wood appeared in was Avalon, by Barry Levinson. Highly recommended, although not the cheeriest film you could watch.

Seeing him in “The Good Son” recently makes me feel really guilty about the dream I had of him the other night.
Ah … Frodooo…

I liked Culkin in The Good Son.

Let me just say that Elijah Wood is the only guy that I’ve seen that has EVER EVER made me think “I want children.” And it is a VERY well known fact among my friends and family that I GREATLY dislike children. But I can’t help looking at him and thinking “I want to have his children.”

um…[/pointless, disturbing digression]

Another really good early Elijah Wood movie (much better than The Good Son, in my opinion) is Radio Flyer. Highly recommended.

The funny thing is, he’s very young in it, but he doesn’t look that much different than he does now!

I think he stopped “growing” at around eleven…

Don’t care, still want his kids

I thought I was the only one who noticed that, BuckleberryFerry. Although I always thought it was twelve.

Holy cats – Frodo was the kid star of Deep Impact ?!
I mean, I remember him in Forever Young, but I just have trouble picturing him as “The great Leo Beiderman”.

Hah!! You don’t read my posts, Tracer!

I pointed that out in the “What’s going to happen to the Hobbit Actors?” thread about a week ago.

Note to self: PLAN A 'LIJAH FILM WEEKEND!

I gotta get off my butt and see more of these films…I’m working off of LOTR and Bumblebee here!!

With Tivo (and Replay too, I assume, I’ve never worked one) you can set his name as a “Wishlist” and it will automatically record anything with his name in the program description. It’s wonderful! No more combing the TV Guide hoping to catch sight of the name of a movie. I plugged in Elijah Wood (and most of the rest of the cast) and have caught a large percentage of his films over the past year. Best of all was catching Miranda Otto’s films. Her smaller Australian films have popped up on all kinds of strange channels, such as WE, Trio, Oxygen. They weren’t OAR, but considering I wouldn’t have seen them otherwise, I was happy. Every few weeks my Tivo would catch something she’d done.

Tivo caught Radio Flyer and while I know it got bad reviews, I liked it a lot. Elijah was so cute and he was very good in it.

'Notha NTS: buy TiVo

Psssst . . . ya wanna see his tattoo? Second picture on the page, or at least it was at the time of his post.

He’s in one of my favorite movies ever,The Ice Storm. Along with a certain web-spinning super hero.

Forgive me, but…I do believe Ah’ve got the vapors! Mmm, you can see the tops of his underpants there…::fwump::

Woah, BuckleberryFerry, does Elijah make you want to have children, or do you want HIS children?! Heh.

A little from column A, a little from column B. His would be preferable.
