Everything else has its own order behind this. But the three above are the important stuff; the real canon events. So officially, by the canon, Fett lived.
You can’t kill Boba Fett.
Also, the EU had some of its better books about Fett himself. I;ve noticed that any book where Jedi are a major feature suck.
Yes! Yes! Thank you for validating my hallucinations.
(Whatever happened to those comics, anyway? Iskalonians and Nagai and all that … they just kinda disappeared at issue #107. And my subscription as a kid ended at #106, so I’ve never read the last issue and feel very, very ripped off about it.)
Officially, by the highest level of canon, anything that falls into the Sarlaac pit is a goner, and Boba fell into the Sarlaac pit. It’s a simple syllogism, folks. The other materials are canon only insofar as they don’t contradict the movies, and saying that Boba survived contradicts the movies.
And why is it such an ignoble way to die, anyway? I could see that if Boba were a cool character, but from the canon sources, he’s a bungling idiot. I mean, he’s such a loser that he made his first appearance in the Christmas special, fercryingoutloud! A loser in life, a loser in death. It works.
Nah. Wedge pilots the X-Wing into the center of the Death Star, followed by Lando and Nien Numb in the Millenium Falcon. Wedge takes out the power regulator on the north side and then flies out.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!
I’m tired of this EU shit. None of it is canon. When it comes to Star Wars the only canon material is what appears on the big screen. Boba Fett is DEAD. Get over it. Not only did he die in the sarlac pit, he is an overrated character.
I’m sorry, but these books and games mean shit in terms of the story. The only thing that matters are the events during the 2 and a half hours of screentime for each episode. Who cares what happens to Boba while he’s in the sarlac pit? Who cares about Han and Leia’s children?
Star Wars is about the rise, fall and redemption of Anakin Skywalker. We first meet Anakin in Episode I, and he dies in Episode VI. END OF STORY!
My friend’s feeling is that Lucas is ultimately responsible for Jedi Academy since it’s his company, therefore Boba Fett lives. Personally, I don’t see how the Sarlacc is so difficult to escape for a fully armed and armored bounty hunter, but I don’t really care that much one way or the other.
