lno: 34

Again from memory. I think this one was a bit easier, but it may just be me.

This refers to characters on the Roseanne television show. I don’t recall the specifics though. Darlene didn’t date until the later seasons.**

Negligence.**

Kind of a mixed bag here. This is supposed to have happened to both Don Juan and Don Giovanni. I’m going with Don Giovanni because we did a production of it in college. Don Giovanni was courting Donna Anna**

Fuego! Light up them cigars!**

Blanche, from “A Streetcar Named Desire”**

From the movie “Airplane”**

This is a nasty one. This is one of those acronyms where not every letter means something. It’s just a shortcut for what the whole phrase sounds like. The actual phrase is “Sea, Air, and Land” because these operatives work in any of these environments.**

A Golem. Golems can be created by imbuing Clay with the word of life(Chai). Other materials were sometimes used, but the golems were traditionally guardians.**

Also known as Uri Geller. Still not sold on his abilities though.**

Catiline was the one plotting overthrow, but quite frankly there is doubt in scholarship about Cicero’s role in the quashing of the fledgling conspiracy. Kind of like the doubts about the role of John Smith in the founding of Jamestown. The main person who sings his praises is the man himself.**

A reference to the television show “Bewitched”.**

Drill**

Signals for British troop movements in the Revolutionary war. The message that Paul Revere was to relay.**

“Stopping by woods on a snowy evening” is the title IIRC. Robert Frost Poem that has the extremely famous line “Two roads diverged in a wood…”**

John Tesch(all those nights covering for the jazz programs host while I worked as a DJ in college finally pay off!)**

Meet George Jetson!**

Quick mental math says 5 and -6**

9 3/4**

Why not? Everyone masticates.**

Cindy Lou Who**

Haiku**

God I can’t remember the speakers name, but he was addressing Joseph McCarthy and it was the time the bottom fell out of the McCarthy witch hunts.**

Poach**

Bis-quick

Enjoy,
Steven

Dang. Do I get to know which one I missed?

mtgman: 18

lno: nope. Just the number correct.

Bah, I think I’m doing ok, but |no’s blowing the curve. :stuck_out_tongue:

Enjoy,

Right. Let’s switch #3 to Mozart’s Don Giovanni, then, and see how we do. Poor Leporello, left behind like that.

Hey, I wonder if Leporello was the impetus for those crappy Left Behind novels. It’d explain a lot.

Actually, it wouldn’t explain anything.

Well, I don’t know if Bricker’s counting this one or not, because it is the definition you get from the first site that pops up on google, but this is not the most obvious legal meaning. In its most common use, “laches” means a delay which causes you to lose your right to contest something (“sleeping on your rights”), which is only weakly linked to the common meaning of negligence.

So, I’m not giving lno that ticket to practice just yet.

Kwyjibo gave me the same advice in chat. I’m weighing swapping answers for #2, or if I should wait on finding out whether Don Giovanni is more suitable than Don Juan… or if I’ll just settle for 34 out of 35.

Also, it amuses me that a lawyer asked the question, and two other lawyers offer pro bono advice on correcting my answer. You didn’t even ask for one of the six beers.

Standard contingency fee=33%.

.33 x 6=2

That’s 2 beers.

But, toss in a couple of spare ribs, and we’re square.
