After hearing him speak, Sheriff David Ward seems like an awesome guy. I’d be proud and happy to have him as the top LEO in my county; I hope the people of Harney County appreciate what they have in him.
FBI Special Agent-In-Charge Greg Bretzing was pretty impressive as well.
So, now that Cliven’s in jail, is there anything stopping the Feds from seizing his cattle as payment for his debt?
No, but they made him insane by poisoning him with UFO chemtrails.

All joking aside, I have to say that I’m very impressed at the way this whole thing was handled. Waiting them out was the right move. As was waiting for the right opportunity to apprehend Cliven Bundy.
So the center remains unusable to birders for that much longer.
Which is something of a victory for the Bundyites, I guess.

IIRC, Monty has a zero-tolerance stand on the issue of prison rape being a good thing, a justifiable thing, a karmic what-goes-around-comes-around thing, or a humorous schadenfreude thing as a matter of principle, and he tends not to let such remarks slide by without making that clear.
I don’t find myself inclined to object to his policy, to tell you the truth.

And let me add for you towering saintly types that I am as zero-tolerant of the actual, literal crime of prison rape as you are.
However, I do have some tolerance for dark humor, at least in forums with names like “The BBQ Pit”.
For it to be dark humor, it has to first be humor. Rape jokes stopped being humor a few years ago.

Back to the 109 or so bullet holes in the Finicum car. Maybe we can get some gun forum posters to do a test. Get an equivalent vehicle, have four volunteers get in while their friends fire 100+ rounds from AR-15’s and .40 cal handguns into the car. The friends should make a good effort to mimic the state police and FBI trying to take down true American Patriots. See how many volunteers survive in the car. Contrast that with firing flash/bangs and tear gas cartridges at another similar vehicle.
Which seems more logical given that occupants survived?
