The Canadope Café 2016: The North Awakens

I had no idea this was happening this summer in Ottawa - Yoga on the Hill

My sister and I plan to visit Toronto in a week. I’ve been before, but my sister hasn’t seen much of the city.

OK, here goes. Why wasnt this addicts background checked a little better. How many bad decisions did he make while under the Influence? And what the hell does this have to do with his gender?

The closet doors are slowly opening, and there will be more revealed.

As for what he’s doing to the veterans, its disgraceful and hypocritical.

And now he’s putting our boys in harms way, up against Putin’s boys. This after he made such a stink about Canada having few CF18s blasting away at ISIS. We’re not tough enough to take on ISIS, but he wants Canadian soldiers to take on the Russian bear.
Get the body bags out.

What a hypocrite.

Oh, and don’t get me going on how Canada’s debt has ballooned since November.

About the only people that still see him as a god are women getting wet between the legs, and gay guys getting stiffies.

The selfie prince is just getting warmed up.

TronnaDope!

Will you be in T.O next weekend?

Looks like our little shuttle aircraft from Lethbridge to Calgary suffered an accident today:

There was a malfunction with the landing gear, and while the main gear deployed just fine, the nose wheel gave out on landing. Nobody was hurt.

I’ve taken that flight many times, as well as the return Calgary-Lethbridge flight. I won’t be afraid to fly it again–but you’d better believe I’ll keep my seat belt tight, and listen to how to use the emergency exits!

Not this coming weekend but the Monday after, for a few days.

Yikes! Thank goodness nobody was hurt.

Harper’s Brazeau is eligible to return to the Senate (he’s on leave but still receiving his pay). Apparently being convicted of assault and possession of cocaine, and being up on a charge for refusing to blow, is not an impediment for a senator. Not on the weekend? Bother. That’s the only time I get down to Toronto. (I am in Peterborough.)

Uhh, what’s that got to do with Junior’s choice of an addict?

Canadians are officially census nerds, according to the Globe and Mail article. We’re currently on track for a 98% return rate on the short form, 96% on the long form. “Best Census since 1666”!

And they still think I don’t exist. Le sigh.

First year I remember doing it on-line. I don’t believe they had that option in 1666.

Look on the bright side. That means the tax people think you don’t exist, too.

Isn’t it illegal to not fill it out?

LOL! They know me all too well.

Yes, they sent me a reminder to fill mine out, but have chosen not to the let me have one to fill out.

Sometimes I get the feeling that the bureaucracy does not truly love me, what with it both disappearing me and turning me into a criminal all in one fell swoop. Sniff . . . :frowning:

Hmph. Hamsters ate this the first time I posted it…

A feel-good article about Canadian generosity - a Syrian family who has only been it the country for four months gets on the wrong train. To spoil the ending for you, lots of strangers help them out.

It is illegal not to fill it out; as with so much else, that doesn’t always stop people from doing something illegal. As the article points out, the higher the rate of compliance, the stronger the data. The voluntary census did not provide very strong data at all.

That sure brings a smile to my face.

One of the many reasons why I love Canada.
