Reading up on Durham while listening to the songs in this thread, what struck me was that she was a lifelong sufferer of a lung disease that also took her life in the end.
The symptoms of bronchiectasis include chronic cough with mucus production and shortness of breath. For someone who made a career out of exceptional singing ability, that is quite something.
